Trash journalism. Predicting a team at the top end of the Big Ten to not do as well this year. Wrong or not, no one but MSU fans object. In the mean time, the fans of the rest of the Big Ten, especially the SCum suckers have a warm and fuzzy moment imagining an easier path to glory and validating themselves.

So much of CFB analysis is just beyond awful. There was a thread a while back about Netflix looking into buying Big Ten TV rights. If they did and if somehow I had the ability to consult them on that I'd advise them to avoid former jocks and invest in intelligent analysts for the sport. Time to hire experts that didn't haven't fallen in love with blue blood tradition, and could look at the sport objectively and make intelligent predictions. I can live with bad news for Michigan State as long as it's articulate and has a reasonable basis for the claim.

I think we could see that happen if HBO got sports. HBO's Sesame Street move was interesting to me because I think they have some surprise moves coming.
