My only beef, and I see too many sites doing it lately, is the lack of a prominent dateline or none at all. Pull that thing up six months from now and no one will know when it was written. I certainly expect better from SI.

Agree completely. Drives me nuts. Had the opposite experience today; a site I was visiting had the date of publication AND a label at the top of the story which stated "This story was published three years ago" which I thought was great. Too bad it rarely happens on other sites.
