Joss Whedon if only for Serenity. Eastwood, especially for Unforgiven, Pale Rider, Outlaw Josey Wales. I was not a fan of Zero Dark Thirty but I liked The Hurt Locker a lot, so maybe Kathryn Bigelow. John Hughes is a given for The Breakfast Club. Overall, just too many to name.

Todd Solondz and Harmony Korine for directors that crossed into being kind of known names but make movies with serious WTF moments. I am not sure I like them all that much, but I feel like you are going to play the "oh, you like mainstream directors" game.

Then again, a lot of those people don't understand why I care about sports. But then again again, sports aren't really a good comparison. The espys is. Which I do not care about.
