Oscars
My wife and I actually watched five or six of these movies this year. Which is really surprising. I think, everything everywhere all at once will win it. However, I like top gun the best. I also think Banshees could win.
Friday night we watched The Whale. Wow, very disturbing. And I really think Brendan Fraser did phenomenal.
I don’t have a best Actress because I’ve only seen one of the five. We almost watched Tar the other night but chose the whale. So Michelle Yeoh is all I got.
Predictions?

Re: Oscars
I loved both Banshees and Everywhere... fablemens was kinda goofy (how to become a director...) a Hollywood movie for Hollywood. Top gun was fine. Not great. All quiet was a good war flick. Not sure "best picture".
Didn't see the others.

Re: Oscars
Don’t really gaf about awards shows. Have only seen Everywhere and TG:M. In my socials feed I see Hugh Grant getting roasted for being a dick in a pre-show interview. And apparently it’s not a red carpet this year. Big news out of Hollywood, I guess.

Everything everywhere has to win. Maybe i missed all the marketing, but it was not what I expected at all. It seemed to be something different. Banshee, I liked, but it took me 3 days to finish. I thought at one point it might be about ptsd or something else, but maybe I was just looking too much.

I was correct in the Best Pic, Best Actor and Actress. I've never been correct before, If you can see The Whale, do so, he's amazing.

I'm 100% sure that the only one of these movies I've seen would be the Top Gun movie.

"Everything ..." is very good, for a movie with no F18's in it. Very SciFi mixed with a very human story. The SciFi keeps the action moving pretty fast.

Make a point to watch Banshees and if you tolerate kung fu type movies, Everywhere.

Wife and I saw it. I guess, like the movie.” the menu.” The ending left me a bit nonplussed.

Only seen Oppenheimer and Barbie. Really want to see the holdovers and Killers because they both interest me. I’m rooting for Maestro, though, as someone I know is in the film.

Watched 'American Fiction' also an A, i wouldn't be surprised if that won. Comedy/drama racial basis, good story most people should watch. (Like barbie)

Killers was ok. The Native American gal was really good. She’s a lock for lead actress Oscar
Oppenheimer was meh then I watched it a second time and it was way better.

Didn’t know that was a movie. For some reason I thought it was a limited series. It has Emma Stone so I’ll watch it eventually, anyway.
