I think if it's offered he will take the Lakers job. Then MSU hires Fife to be the head coach.

He's been there too long. I don't like the idea of turning the program over to a guy who's been there for over a decade and hasn't moved on to a head coaching gig. Fife has head coaching experience (albeit with the Mastodons) and is a decade younger than Stephens.
I definitely don't want certain branches of the Izzo coaching tree coming back to East Lansing - I'm looking at you Tom Crean, Stan Heath, Brian Gregory,

Izzo won't go to the Lakers for the same reason he didn't go to the Cavs.
He might get an interview because of Magic, but they want Walton.

Out of that bullshit list they leaked?
1. Walton
Tie for 2. Izzo/Ollie
3. Everybody else

I honestly doubt Izzo is on their primary radar. Maybe the periphery. I think the Spurs assistant coach with the ethnic name is probably 1/1a with Walton.

They would take Ollie over Izzo. He has a connection to Durant and Westbrook (and LA can get them as free agents).

You all think Izzo would stiff the newest recruiting class by jumping to the Lakers with the lack of players on the LA roster?
Its not like he's being offered the Warriors job with a team that's got its stars locked up with long term contracts. LA Lakers are a grease fire that Kobe Bryant fueled for years.

Re: Izzo to the Lakers
maybe I could arrange for a drone to drop a picture of my daughter (sorry For bin) onto the front lawn of the Berkowitz Center - her name is "Thomasina Izzo Sakimano" - and the picture includes our dog, Timbo, wearing a green Spartan bandanna around his neck.. kissing the floor of our basement designed as an identical replica of the Breslin Center floor. This would illustrate, I hope, our commitment to MSU in hopes that Tom would reciprocate with his commitment to Spartan athletics.steveschneider wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote:
