It does seem way too easy for her. All of sudden she's just ruling the fucking place. It's too bad because she's a major storyline and will continue to be. Probably my only beef with the show overall.

The workers just had a switch flipped and offered no resistance to her plan. The Asian guy fall in love or what ? It could have been developed a lot better.

Re: Westworld - HBO
The show hasn't had much filler, not sure how much time they want to devote to that story line. Maeve is tied to MiB though, he'll probably die because of her at the end. In an ironic twist, just as he took from her, she's going to take his life as he Dolores finally remembers who he is.Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:InTenSity wrote:

The Maeve storyline seems poorly written. Everything else has been top notch. It doesn't make sense. Every time I see those two doofus co-workers on screen I get pissed off. At this point I hope they're hosts controlled by Ford too, to explain why they can get away with what they've been doing.

Isn't that what makes these shows great? The combination of nudity, violence, strong characters, and the overall story that mindfucks you? I love it baby!

Was that also the scene that was one of the flashbacks? Because she was in one of those, holding an umbrella.
Yep.
Here's one random dude's thoughts on the different time periods we're seeing.
34 Years ago:
- Arnold has secret talks with Dolores.
- Dolores murking everyone at the dance
- The murked dance town gets buried
30 years ago:
- Enter Logan and William
- Dolores enters the party
- Lawrence sends the three on a fetch quest
- William and Dolores meet up at the buried murked dance town
Pre-show Present
- MiB murks Meave and her kid
- Meave wakes up with Bernard and Ford and for just a second recognizes Arnold in Bernard, which triggers her to kill herself.
- Meave is re-assigned to become a madam.
Present
- Where Bill and Ted, Sizemore, Bernard, Ford, Hale, Elsie, etc are hanging out
- MiB drags Dolores into the barn
- Bernard murks Teressa and Elsie
- All the scenes where Dolores is seemingly by herself when she really shouldn't be. I think she's retracing her previous loop that doesn't end with her getting raped and murdered at the barn.
So a lot of this has turned out to be accurate.

I don't get the beef with Maeve's story line, I love her story arch, she's about to become the Kerrigan of androids.

Here's my take. William is the man in black some 30 years earlier. Deloris was a tag along on his original adventure at the park. Arnold was working on giving consciousness to Deloris some time prior to William/MiB arriving. That's where you see Arnold/Bernard talking with Deloris in early episodes.
When you see Deloris wearing a different outfit is when she is by herself, retracing her steps of that trip with William. The big reveal at the end of the episode is William/MiB finally reuniting with Deloris now that she "remembers" the past. It'll be interesting to see how she responds.
The whole Maeve story line is kind of filler for me. The two doofus employees giving her god abilities kind of ruined that plot line. Maybe there will be a wrap up in the last episode that makes what is going on there a little more believeable.
Don't think we've seen the last of Bernard either. You have Maeve showing up where he shot himself. She has god powers over hosts, and you have Ford talking about resurrection in an earlier episode.

And Ford made Bernard to be just like Arnold minus the drive to create human consciousness, yeah?

I think so. One thing I don't get. Is Ford the only employee left from when Arnold was alive? If not wouldn't someone figure out Ford made a copy of Arnold. I think the discount Hemsworth brother knows something is up with him. But he got snagged by the Indians.

No zombies, I am pretty sure what you saw was a native American tribe, the Ghost Nation. (I have it on good account they are so named in your honor)gHost Spartan wrote:Did I see correctly that there's zombies out there?
One of the things that I was thinking about, and it's more or less unrelated to the story, is just how big is this place supposed to be? In the series they show vast areas of land - which I happen to be familiar with - and it seems like something this size could potentially be bigger than Rhode Island or Connecticut. Have they talked about the scale yet? (I've fallen asleep during some episodes)
Based on maps provided the size of the park is estimated to be roughly 500 square miles. A little less than half the size of Rhode Island but still very large.

Re: Westworld - HBO
Anyone have any thoughts on where the show is heading in the finale?
My thoughts:
My thoughts:
- Theory 1:
- Elsie is still alive (I know - to the surprise of just about no one). I think she reprogrammed the ghost nation to act as her protectors and will interrogate Stubbs trying to figure out who she can trust.
I have to think she has a larger role to play, otherwise they wasted a lot of screen time on her and Ford really had no reason to kill her. I thought when she kissed Maive in episode one that it was out of place and I think she comes to help Maive in an attempt to bring down Ford.
Besides, I have always hoped for some gratuitous nuidty from her character. Maybe she can come back as a host, they spend a lot of time naked.
- Theory 2:
- Delores = Wyatt. Very out there, I know. But just by piece together a bunch of memory fragments from Delores and Teddy that seem to be getting more and more refined.

Theory 2 is not that far out there. I think that one is gonna happen. Question is, where does Abernathy come back in? He was in the last episode.

Hopefully his role is just to kill Sizemore. Violently, very violently.InTenSity wrote:Question is, where does Abernathy come back in? He was in the last episode.

The total mind Fuck would be William is a host accompanying Logan and Logan ending up being the mib. Williams backstory is his fiance.

You must be referring to Wyatt's gang. No one knows exactly who/what they are - most likely hosts (probably sentient or lacking programming limitations) but not zombies.gHost Spartan wrote:MSU addict wrote:

I'm not sure which episode, but the one where the younger black haired chick programmer and the guy go into Westworld and find the crazed dude in the crevasse and he smashes the boulder on his head. I thought that earlier in that episode there was some zombie-like activity? Apparently not. I've been half asleep through some of these.

They seem more immortal than zombie-like. I'm assuming Maeve will be able to give her army the same powers. This last episode should be pretty good.

I guess we don't have to worry about Anthony Hopkins getting too old to see this series through to the end. Although, they could easily bring him back as a host. Deloris's talk with William was pretty bad ass. I'm assuming he lives through Ford's final "narrative".
I hear season two won't be released until 2018. These 10 week seasons followed up by over a year before the next sucks.

It definitely crossed my mind. Or maybe they wrote Hopkins out because he is literally getting too old for this shit. His last conversation with Bernard seemed pretty final.
