In a statement, Boeing said: "We are currently under contract for $170 million to help determine the capabilities of these complex military aircraft that serves the unique requirements of the President of the United States. Washington Post checks accuracy on Trump's tweet. Some experts have confirmed the 4 Billion estimate is reasonable. Interesting the Boeing doesn't make any money off the deal, they do it for the prestige.

One thing of note, he's screwing over his successor if he actually cancels the order. Great guy!

Don't tell Bob, he's still arguing he's right at 170M. But then again he has a blind spot when it comes to Trump.

Donald Trump’s methods may be unorthodox but he seems to be getting some results.

Today Dennis Muilenburg, the CEO of Boeing, had a meeting with Trump at the President-elect’s Florida resort. Afterwards, Muilenburg came out and said he had given Trump his personal promise that the Air Force One project would be done for less.

“Very productive and really encouraged by the dialogue,” Muilenburg said as he stepped outside. “We’re all focused on the same thing here,” he added, “We want to make sure we give our war fighters the best capability in the world and that we do it in a way that’s affordable for our taxpayers.” Muilenburg then praised Trump saying, “His business headset around that is excellent…Got a lot of respect for him. He’s a good man and he’s doing the right thing.”

Asked if Air Force One had come up, Muilenburg replied, “We did talk about Air Force One and again the same focus here on making sure we get best capability, make sure the president is secure and that we protect national security and that we do it affordably.”

When a reporter asked if Muilenburg would dispute Trump’s $4 billion estimate on the price of the Air Force One program, he replied, “We’re going to get it done for less than that and we’re committed to working together to make sure that happens.

“I was able to give the President-elect my personal commitment on behalf of the Boeing company. This is a business that’s important to us. We work on Air Force One because it’s important to our country and we’re going to make sure that he gets the best capability and that it’s done affordably.”
