Lisa Hannigan needed her own mic here, but still a solid live version.

I like the crazy thick Irish accent on Lisa during her short solo. But yeah, I agree the original female singer is a bit more refined.

agree - plus, Once was one of the first music-related connections my daughter and I had. She began playing violin, guitar and singing.. and going to shows with me - the rest is history. Â So that's cool.Watch Out Pylon! wrote:Robert J Sakimano wrote: solid version.. still prefer Marketa Irglova.

Re: What are you listening to right now?
going joke in certain circles about how The Gaslight Anthem and Brian Fallon solo stuff (along with his time with The Horrible Crowes) are inspired almost too much by Springsteen.
by the way, there is no such thing as being too inspired by Springsteen.
This tune sounds like it could be a Springsteen outtake circa '85 or so.

great transient sound.. the ethereal nature of it sounds better in the winter, too.Rocinante wrote:Bon Iver's self-titled Album (2011) has become one of my favorite albums.

Been on a classic jazz run for most of the summer. Love this stuff.
Also happened upon these guys a couple of weeks ago. Really enjoying their work.

Oh - and a lot of folks rank "Wildflowers" as his best record.. I'd probably put it second behind "Torpedoes" - hard to go wrong with either.
