NSIAP $1 Shave Club, anyone doing this?
$6/month for 4 4-blade heads. Seems too good to be true. I currently use Schtick Hydro 5 (5 blades). They run about $4/head, and I use them until the gel strip runs out, usually 2-3 weeks each.
So let's say $16 every 2 months. Is the $1 shave club worth it to save $2? ($8 vs. $6)? Also you get 4 so that is approx. one head per week. But I am worried about quality more than cost.
Thoughts?

I do Harry's and it's way cheaper than the Bic/Gillette route.
I only shave like 2-3x per week, though.

How is the quality of the Harry's heads?

I feel sorry for any poor dumb sonuvabitch who has to shave daily.

So you don't shave anything daily? Doesn't your neck get all prickly by 5pm? Or do you have too much estrogen?

I switched to Harry's on a whim about three months ago after finally having had enough of Gillette. I've been happy with Harry's. I don't subscribe, though, because I found out they're available at Target and I'm in there about once a month anyway. I don't know how the Target prices compare to the subscription.

Yes, they're avail at Target. The blades are pretty good, I'd say they last just as long or longer than those stupid 18 blade things from Gillette that cost like $8/apiece. And I like the shaving cream and after shave balm.
I don't get stubble like that every day. Maybe every 3-4 days. And I work from home so I don't particularly care if I have stubble unless my wife/kids complain about it.

I use a blade every day, but only after going over everything with the electric first, so I get about a month out of blade. Just the blade and water to get a little smoother than the Norelco.

Even with a beard (which I have for hunting season) you need to shave your neck. Don't be a neanderthal.

Dollar Shave Club's blades are made by Dorco. You can buy the Dorco Blades cheaper directly from them or Amazon (if you follow some of the deal sites, you can almost get them for free to try from Dorco).
I have tried the Dorco blades - in my opinion they not high quality blades, not terrible but below Gillette quality.
I have only bought them once, but strangely I follow Floyd Robertson's approach - Norelco wet/dry followed by a blade touch up. Though, I do use shaving cream with the Norelco. A process I discovered while researching how to shave with a busted up face. I liked it and have stuck with it.

This thread is shameful. Talking about razors? Grow up and grow a beard. If you cannot grow a beard, just accept your reduced place in the male hierarchy.

Only shave with a blade on Mondays (or Tuesday if following a Monday holiday). Use a disposable and only go through maybe 5-6 a year.
Use a Braun series 7 the rest of the week. Best electric I've tried. Replacement heads aren't cheap at about $45 each but only change it once a year. Change the cleaning cartridge in the recharger roughly every 3 months...another $20 a year.

Suburbs ruined America.
Absent in suburbs is the sense of community one might find in city neighborhoods. Absent in suburbs is the sense of self-sustainability one might find in rural communities. Suburbs are absolutely horrible. The social experience is horrible, and so is the hyper- commercialization.

With that being said, there is a higher chance you wear sweat pants and cargo shorts if you’re a suburbanite.
