Nordic wrote:Anyone ever watch the EcoChallange? 600+ km adventure race. Mulitiple checkpoints. A lot of hiking, mountain biking, paddling, traversing flooded rivers, etc. Eat and sleep as you please. No electronics (GPS, heart rate monitors, etc.). Top teams will do it 10 days and rarely stop.
It's been around for a while, I remember watching it pre-Survivor. I think this is the first race since 2012. They up'ed the production value witb Bear Grylls, but he is not in much.
It's a good watch. I really wanted to do it twenty years ago.
Mrs. GW loves it. She watched it the last time, too.

Nope. I’ll mention it to her. She really digs those types of shows.

I don’t watch them the way she does. And on second thought, she might be watching it now.

I signed up for the Zoo-de-Mack ride this May, 51 miles from the Zoo bar at Boyne Highlands to the Mackinaw bridge. Can't wait, even if it's not the hardest single-day ride.

If I had another battery for my ebike I could make that ride easily.

You could wear a hat with solar panels for extra distance.
I bet D Wags can tell you where to pick one up.

Bump.
After this race being canceled in 2020, it is back for 2021. I'm rolling out Saturday morning at 7:30 so I will be missing the game against Miami.

Thanks fellas!
I said the same thing 5 years ago Floyd! Regardless, if you ever get up to Marquette, I'd be happy to take you on some trails that are not collar bone shattering.

Thanks guys! Finished at 4:31 this morning. Never felt better, or worse, in my life. Surprisingly, haven't been able to sleep very well but finally starting to relax a bit and going to try to sleep for the rest of my life...

Update!
My now 13 year old daughter and I decided to race the 50 mile version of the Marji Gesick this past weekend. It was actually 62 miles with 8,173 feet of climbing. She fucking rocked it and actually beat me by almost an hour! This is us shortly after I crossed the finish line. Love that kid! The mentor has become the mentee.

Is it safe to assume there was also 8,173 feet of downhill?Motown Spartan wrote:Update!

She did for sure! The race started in Marquette and finished in Ishpeming so there was probably only like 7,300 feet of descent.
