Ordered a new GM ride
Assembled in Korea (buy merican)....
It's been 3 months... When can I expect delivery?
Kind of wanted to cash in on the GM pricing for everyone through the end of the month. And my kid took over my car.

The Koreans are building their cars in America and the Americans are building their cars in Korea. How wonderful is that?

I assumed there must be at least 1 or 3 dudes here involved in GM's supply chain. Someone can give me a heads up. The salesman at the dealership is useless.
writes his emails like this:
I looked today on computer

You should have received it in 30 minutes or less. If not, it's free.

In addition to being unfunny and vaguely racist, "sum ting wong" doesn't sound Korean at all.Robert J Sakimano wrote:so... you're saying that there might be sum ting wong with your Korean order?

Company I work for designs and builds tools (aka: bent screwdrivers) for most GM final assembly plants in North America. Tools for GM plants outside of NA are primarily designed and built outside the USA.AvgMSUJoe wrote:Like me a good kimchi...

My mom won't leave the house unless it's vital. They wanted a new vehicle. Told me to find them one. Dad wanted a Subaru Outback (retired 40 years from GM) Where we live warranty issues would mean driving two hours to traverse City. I had a Buick Encore GX delivered to them. 3 cylinder. Not the CVT. Got the 9 speed AWD. I was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of power. Phenomenal gas mileage. You'll have no problem with the three cylinder. I'm a Toyota/Lexus guy but Buick has definitely stepped up in quality. No idea about a Blazer. Kinda looks like an upscale Equinox?

We make quality products, on levels equal to or better than anything made elsewhere. Problem is, many Americans still think they are inferior. "Thanks, fucking Car & Driver"...the absolute worst automotive publication. Figures they're based in AA.AvgMSUJoe wrote:I actually did think I was buying a GM vehicle... Yes, it’s made in Mexico.
I know because 2.5 years ago I called the fleet company. I asked them why it was taking so long, when the update I had said it was built. I said, it should be here any day since I live in Michigan. That’s when they told me they build them in Mexico. I had no idea.

GM has 3 final assembly plants in Mexico producing Silverado/Sierra, Trax/Equinox/Terrain, and Blazer/Sonic. Which do you drive? My company has assembly tools at all three plants.Dendrobates wrote:Yes, it’s made in Mexico.

Does your company use green sauce to lubricate the machines that make the parts?

No, but some lubricants have kind of a green tinge. You'd think they'd last forever but the drums have expiration dates.Turtleneck wrote:Does your company use green sauce to lubricate the machines that make the parts?

Equinox.
Right now, if you want more taken out of your paycheck and a 1000k down payment, you can get an Acadia. But I stick with the equinox. Nothing down, and they take $70 out of each paycheck for it. I can use it as my own, I have a gas card, and I don't pay any insurance/maintenance/repairs. I dig the arrangement.

Prediction. You are in an Acadia within 8 months once Rona is over.

Was your new ride on one of the freighters that turned over in the ocean? One was because of a storm and the other was because they had it set up to carry regular sized cars but they decided to cram on a bunch of SUVS at the last minute. Whoops.
