Re: 2022 Midterm Elections..
Glad you guys are focusing on schools. I hope most progressive leaning folks are as astute. The mask/crt/vaccine freak outs are all rooted in the same thing: privatization of public schools. It’s true that most of the people who are freaking out don’t know that, but they are being encouraged though social media manipulation and sometimes outright funding by dark money groups bent on squeezing that sweet sweet public school funding out of us and into their pockets. The breakdown of trust and devaluation of the public school system helps them make the argument that they can do better (they can’t and actually don’t care).

People vote on their feelings, which is the mistake the Progressives keep making. Logic and well being have nothing to do with it.

One baby step deeper analysis of the VA governors race showed that somehow white women blamed the Demcratics for school closures. No logic there as the cause of school closures, a public health emergency, has been caused by the Republicans refusing to act on the emergency, thus showing that a refusal to admit reality is better politically.
Given that the Republican actions in VA going forward will make things for these white women worse, logically, their vote was a pure protest against reality, based on their feelings.

Republicans will tell you a bunch of different things and the mainstream media will go out of their way to help them feel better about it. But, overall, it's all about Republican politicians weaponizing white fear.
Which, of course, is rooted in racism.. which is rooted in stupidity.
America is a stupid country.

Only fear, paranoia and hate.. and, as I've been saying on this fine platform for years, fear, paranoia and hate are powerful attributes that drive the human psyche. When intellectually vulnerable people are manipulated by these attributes in the name of power, nothing good can happen.
there is a reason why Republicans have spent decades demonizing education. They need a stupid America in order to manipulate them for gain.

You confuse candid speech by regular people for professional political talking points. We can say whatever we want, without political fallout.

You’re probably wondering, along with the rest of us, how such an inane straw-man issue like critical race theory (CRT) could be the fulcrum to catapult GOP darling Glenn Youngkin into the governor’s seat. Well, let’s say it wasn’t white suburban Karens toiling away in a grassroots effort. It was a carefully crafted scheme by GOP operatives, funded by billionaire donors such as Koch Industries working as puppetmasters and baiting scared white parents into serving as mouthpieces.
According to reporting by The Daily Beast, several of Virginia’s anti-CRT groups were found to have backing by lobbying firms, Koch groups, former Trump officials, and The Federalist Society.

Yeah, but only the delivery system is new. It's long been part of Republican politics to search for and inflate minor race/gender/sexuality issues and scare people like RQA.

Absolutely.
This CRT noise is jut the "Tea Party", which was also an Astroturf movement, funded by the Billionaires, updated to 2021. Its purpose it to keep the "poor people" fighting with each other.
