I don’t go to bdubs, but wings in my area have been $1.25-$1.50 for a while now. A buck per wing is cheap.Dendrobates wrote:I'm having some family over the watch the game tonight. I'm just putting out some snack stuff, popcorn, charcuterie, chips, and bdubs wings. We've received some giftcards over the years and forget We've got them. Has it been $1 a wing for a while now? I know their prices went up years ago. I don't eat there enough to know. $200 for wings seems excessive, but it is what it is.

Hmm. I guess I don't order wings enough. Now looking into it, the price is higher for wings. But the party catering pack, it's slightly cheaper.

Today is my last day of quarantine.
Update:
I legitimately finally got COVID guys. And now I’m known as the asshole who gave it to his whole entire family during Christmas.
I’m actually not even kidding though. Im pretty sure my entire family hates me now

Aren’t we all really quarantined? Think about it. We’re never out of quarantine until we die. All we can do is vax our selves with love and treat each other with kindness.

A couple of nominees off the top of my head from the world of heavy metal:DWags wrote:If you had to put a rock song to giving your family Covid, which song would it be?
Anthrax's "Among The Living" starts out:
"Disease, disease
Spreading the disease
With some help from Captain Trips
Bringing the world down to his knees".
Halloween's "Keeper Of The Seven Keys" has a section:
"Disease, disease, disease my friend
For this whole world's in devil's hand
Disease, disease, disease my friend
Throw the key or you may die"

Those that don't mind watching Disney animated films really need to watch Encanto. I didn't hear anyone talk about it, I barely saw any advertisements on it, but it was damn good. I was really surprised. This is Lin Manuel Miranda's best songwriting. Great catchy tunes, and deep involved lyrics. All the characters are flawed but likable. I really suggest watching it if you like those kind of movies.

Another fun filled Christmas in Vermont with family, food, alcohol and board games. (Catan, Ticket to Ride and new this year Azul.) All great for drinking and insults
We decided to travel after latest boosters (Team Moderna) with K95/KN-94 masks
Didn’t realize how COVID has permeated everything until I drove by a UVM COVID drive thru test site on Sunday and saw lines like I saw in Oct 2020 in GR.
Stay well fellow Swillers.

My phone just told me its battery is significantly degraded. It’s an older iPhone but is generally in good shape. However, I got lazy with letting the battery wear down before charging because it was way more convenient to have a full charge. Trying to decide whether to spend $70 for a replacement battery or just upgrade to a new phone. What little tech geek exists in me really wants to get the 13, but the cheapskate who basically rules all wants to spend very little. I wonder who will win this internal clash.

We were pretty sure there was some critter in our walls. We could hear it the most on our first floor bathroom. Well my husband turned on the bathroom fan which was a disaster.
I just spent 45 minutes cleaning the bathroom. No pieces, just blood. Now what? The fan is either clogged or broken and wires may be chewed through. Do we need to turn off the electrical to pull out the fan?

Furnace is in the utility room off the garage. It kicked on a few years ago. About 10 minutes later it started making a racket so shut it off.Dendrobates wrote:I feel bad for it though. What an awful way to go.
HVAC guy came out and discovered a bird had got mangled in a fan in the ductwork. Thing had apparently been standing on the rim of the exhaust vent on the roof. Carbon monoxide knocked it out and it fell down the duct into the fan.

Re: Random Ramblings
Like Pantry said, it’s best to cut off the circuit to inspect, though you might be able to pull out the leads to the fan if you don’t mind risking it. My advice is call the electrician and let them get up there and inspect those wires and look for any more damage, but that’s what I would do because the chance for fires weirds me out.

Re: Random Ramblings
I went with calling my electrician friend. He will be over tomorrow or Tues. I would feel more comfortable having someone check everything out making sure theres no chewed up wires. We didn't pull out the fan, but just removed the vent cover. Even with a flashlight looking through, we don't see it. It can't be far. There's no way it's still alive. That was way too much blood. I never would have thought that would be strong enough to slice a mouse. The more you know.
I'm going to set some traps in the attic and garage anyway to see if there's any more around.
But seriously, in a brand new house? Fucking bastard mice.

Here's the thing with mice. They can squeeze through a hole the size of a dime. Also, it's cold outside and mice don't really like that.
My GF has complaining lately of hearing a fluttering in her attic, like a bat. I've been up there but I can't find any evidence. I'm sure I'll be hearing more about this, until she feels like paying a bat relocation service to investigate.

Years ago, after hearing sounds in our attic, my wife called a guy who told her we had bats up there. She wrote him a check for $800. I knew it wasn’t bats and asked her to get the check back, which took way longer than it should have. Bought a couple of Hav-a-Heart traps and proceeded to remove 13 red squirrels over the course of a couple months. Relocated all but the two that died in the cage.
tl:dr If it’s possible, have a look up there to check for signs of wildlife and what kind it might be. Do this before you get someone up there who wants a hefty deposit.

So that mouse that was murdered by our bathroom fan, turned out it wasn't a mouse. It was bird. Sad ending. Thankfully, it wasn't as torn apart as I thought. But I feel bad, it just got stuck in the fan area.

I had bats getting into my roof overhang through a gap between the chimney and the overhand. Waited til they went out for the night and taped a piece of screen up over it so any remaining bats could get out, but not back in. Worked like a charm.
Squirrels only last a couple of weeks around my house before they decide to commit suicide out in the road in front of my house.
