What possibly have I posted here that even merits bringing that up pro or con?
Even funnier bringing it up in a thread on book banning.
If you were banned here, would you argue you weren't really banned because you could post on a different message board?
Not same thing.
If Gender Queer is removed from my local elementary school library I can still get Gender Queer from many other sources.
If I am banned from Spartan Swill I can no longer use Spartan Swill from any source.
Nice try though.

It was a pretty simple analogy. Not sure why you didn't get it. Maybe you did.
tSwill is the local elementary school library.
You are the book.
Anyone could read you on a different message board.

For example: When people say an "obvious racist" mowed white people and a white child down base on race in a parade, did he provide any evidence that it was a racist attack? Or were they just trying to insert their own beliefs into an unknown? I mean, evidence would help.
So in your world when a known racist kills people and children of his hated race the actual racist is the person reporting the story.
Crazy.......

Dwags, do you roll your eyes when kingston calls me a racist evidently simply for being a conservative? Do you think it's honest discourse to call someone a book banner for thinking Gender Queer doesn't belong in an elementary school? Is it an eye roller when Pervis says I lied by saying he wasn't following something instead of he wasn't interested? (it may have been the other way around).
You should be banned from using the words "honest discourse".

Exactly the point I was going to make, and on TOB he did call them bannings - even though he could post on any number of other boards. For RQA, a word's definition is entirely dependent on what he needs it to mean this time.

This is fantastic! If, after all lawsuits are settled, they are allowed to ban any books for the reasons they're claiming, they must allow them to ban the Bible.

Re: Book Banning
Keeping books that depict graphic human sexuality out of elementary school library is not book banning especially when those books are otherwise readily available.

If it’s “not book banning” then the word “however” really wasn’t necessary.

Elementary school ends at 7th grade, a time when most kids need to know about sexual relations.

You are not against book banning. This has been a bad angle for you to take in this discussion, as your failed semantics game has made you look silly and dishonest.
I can give you a much better strategy for your argument. Just state that almost everyone supports book-bannings to some extent. For example, I might support banning a picture book of Nazi war crimes from a preschool library. Once you establish that your opponent may support banning a book, then you're merely arguing where the lines are drawn.
I just want you to be better at this. You're welcome.

As I stated earlier, gender dysphoria typically begins between 4-7 and we have to remember that sexuality and gender are not the same thing. By the time a starts having doubts about their gender, they've been referred to as a singular gender for years.

Re: Book Banning
Some Manatee County teachers have covered their classroom libraries with construction paper or otherwise eliminated students' access to make sure they comply with new Florida law requiring all library books to be approved by a certified media specialist.
The Manatee County School District directed teachers to remove all books that had not yet been approved by a specialist from their classroom libraries, Kevin Chapman, the district's chief of staff, said Monday. Chapman said many of the books teachers make available to students in their classrooms are likely already approved through the district's library system, but many teachers have chosen to close access altogether, since making unvetted books available could lead to felony prosecution.

U.S. Readers ... The Pew Research Center conducts a lot of detailed research and statistical analysis in the United States of America. Their study published in 2016 found that 72% of Americans had read a book the preceding year, a number that rose to 75% in 2022.

25% but still too high.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Police are investigating after another bomb threat was issued against the Hilton Central School District.
The new threat was sent out to News 8 Friday morning saying that a bomb was planted at all five schools of the district and that Molotov cocktails will be thrown into the school district’s office. The new threat says that this is due to the school exposing children to “pornographic material.”

Re: Book Banning
So now Repugniclans in the Missouri (the show me you're stupid state) legislature have voted to defund libraries
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - House lawmakers also on Tuesday voted to strip all state funding from public libraries.
Republican House Budget Chairman Cody Smith last week cut the roughly $4.5 million in public library funding from the budget, citing a lawsuit by two library groups to overturn a new Missouri law that bans sexually explicit material in school libraries.
The ACLU, the Missouri Association of School Librarians, and the Missouri Library Association in February asked the Circuit Court in Kansas City to find the law unconstitutional or clarify how and when it applies.
Smith has said the state shouldn’t subsidize the lawsuit by giving public libraries money.
The law, passed last year, does not apply to written descriptions of sex or sexual acts; only photos, drawings, videos and other visual depictions are prohibited.

Sort of makes sense that it only applies to illustrations as reading all those words is hard work and requires comprehension.

BENITEZ: Why do you think your books are getting banned, especially there in Florida?
PICOULT: That is an excellent question. But unfortunately, in Martin County, Florida, and in many places in Florida, one parent can decide to pull a book from a shelf without even giving a reason for that. And the one parent who wanted to ban all 20 of my books said on her form that she had not read the book, she admitted to that. And she said that some of them were adult romance, which is really interesting because I don't write adult romance. And, in fact, half of the books she pulled do not even have a single kiss in them. But they do have topics like gun rights and women's reproductive health rights and gay rights and things that make—
BENITEZ: Because all of your books are very topical. It's like what's happening in the moment.
PICOULT: Yeah, so they're books that are to encourage kids to think for themselves. The real real reason they're banned
