Why are old guys obsessed with gas prices? And they insist on being very specific about it. Have to say the exact station and exact price. Over the holidays my dad and his brothers were over. The main topic? Gas prices! Not that they were too high or that they had come down in price but exactly what station and what the price was.

Uncle Al: gas at the Marathon station over in Madison Heights $305. Uncle Bob: 299 at the Meijer in Royal Oak. Dad: 289 at the Citgo on Woodward. I'm sure Uncle Al and Uncle Bob stopped at the Citgo on their way home!

I don’t get right wing people that are against electric vehicles. It’s almost like they’re politically against them and they want an internal combustible engine.

I’ve always thought about the states that produced the most terrorists. what’s the one major product that they can export and sell and put money towards terrorism that they have? It’s oil. If we can move away from that, aren’t we going to hit terrorism and the states that they come from in the pocketbook? What am I missing here?

It might have something to do with that a big chunk of funding for Republicians comes from people in the fossil fuel business, whose products assumedly will be less in demand as the economy is electrified.
The propaganda systems they have put in place over the years pumps out bunches of stuff to convince people of how great fossil fuels are.

The reason we now have high oil prices is that they have not returned their production to pre-pandemic levels.
