Noticed gas prices went up from 3.23 @ Meijer to $3.39 Wednesday.

Explaining relative high gas prices when compared to gas prices in Trump's term requires 2nd stage thought.

Prior to the COVID shutdown in March of 2020 unemployment was 3.5% and gas was 2.40 per gallon. Adjusted for inflation that would be 2.92 today. It dropped below $1.99 in a lot of places after the COVID shutdown because hardly anyone drove for months. Oil prices plummeted due to lack of demand.

I only drive about 20 miles a week but I saw gas the other day for $2.83/gallon.
