I think that some Michigan springs are just fine. Last year I was able to log 185 miles on my bike through April 7th. This year it is 0.0 and my training for Zoo-de-Mack 2022 is running seriously behind. So damn you spring 2022 so far.

There was a tornado warning from 11:05-11:15 down here in St Pete. Didn’t see anything myself. But a warning means somewhere someone did. Pretty rough day. Nap day.

quick little 18 mile bike ride this morning (before a meeting that I slept through).

Got a little wet on the ride, but I've been wet before.

now it's hailing in East Lansing.. I can see it hitting and bouncing off the driveway.

Tree snapping weather. We usually have one come down in the back this time of year. Sharpening my Fiskars X27 just in case.

Possibly low 80's next weekend in mid-Michigan. Time for Bob to go into hiding.

I've got two down in my backyard and can't do a damn thing about it due to a current medical condition. Anyone know anyone that wants to do some yard work? I pay more than minimum wage.

How big?

Had two ash trees go down in separate wind events. One fell on the neighbors house while they were on vacation. Called an emergency restoration place to patch up the house to prevent any further damage until they got back and could arrange repairs. A friend brought over his chain saw and we took care of the fallen tree. Not sure the exact total but think it was $25k damage their insurance company had to pay.

The 2nd ash tree fell into the same neighbor's backyard and got hung up in one of their trees. Tree that went down had to be 70-80 feet tall. Came to rest at about a 30° angle from the ground...very dangerous. Hired a tree company to take care of that one.

One is a branch off a pine tree and the other is a small ash tree. Neither are very big but I'm limited to about 8 lbs on what I can carry. They're both completely down. I should have my son take care of them tomorrow when he comes over. I've got a brush pile that keeps growing and nothing I can do about it for now.

In-laws house on lake Columbia. Brooklyn Michigan. Took 94 to 23 south and 12 into Brooklyn. Passed a place called “patriot grub and pub” on the way in. Scary area. But once you get here it’s 50 degrees nice breeze.

Exactly. I think I was just a bit surprise but he also said it kind of like with an angry tone. He looked at me with a bit of disdain.  One of those deals where you kind of had to think about what was going on before anything really registered.

Yeah. Had the guy said, "War, buddy," I could understand that. We all have our preferences. But peace and freedom aren't mutually exclusive.
