This could get interesting. Company has an anniversary open house party scheduled for tomorrow. Have a big tent, tables & chairs already set up in the parking lot. If any decent winds come through those cheap, lightweight chairs will be everywhere by tomorrow morning.

Oh it just got pouring in my neighborhood, the thunder and lightning are overhead.

My farmer neighbor planted beans this year in early May or so. Nothing is coming up other than a few weeds.

it's been 47 days since East Lansing had more than .25" of rain.

calling for some rain Sunday into Tuesday. We could use it.

Saw a couple of formations today within the same group of storm clouds that resembled the beginnings of funnel clouds. Both were shaped like toothpicks pointing down to the ground, then one of them started to curve like a thin S stretched from top to bottom. Then it just sort of dissipated. The other broke up.  
That’s the most excitement we’ve had around here in days.

We have a real gullywasher in EL right now.

Looks to hit here around 7:30. Just finished cutting the grass for only the 2nd time in the past 5-6 weeks...mower deck still on its highest setting. Hope we get a decent pour this time.

Took a couple of small branches out of one of the trees and blew over the lawn chairs.

Less than 0.2 inches of rain so far.

I got the portable generator going. Live in the boonies, so it is a regular occurrence. Most of my neighbors have the hardwired units, but I’m too cheap.

69k out of power. Awaiting DTE calling it a once-in-a-lifetime-30-year-unprecedented storm.

Thinking hardwired with a 500 gallon propane tank is the way to go. Back up batteries and solar is the other option

Seems like we have had a bunch of those in the last few years.

Rain gauge shows 1.24 inches right now, which is decent but not overwhelming.

was in Ann Arbor yesterday afternoon/last night (I know).. we got caught in this wind storm which seemed to be part wind shear/tornado. As dry as it's been, it was like a dust bowl. People running for cover, looked apocalyptic.

almost got decapitated by a flying pizza box turned into what seemed like a savage sheet metal-like projectile.

anyway.. ducked into a couple of bars trying to look for space. Finally found a couple of seats, waited the rain out - made it over to the rock show. On our way back to the car, half of the town was without power. My wife had said it came down pretty hard in East Lansing, as well.

maybe more rain today (hopefully), but no big storms.

Slow steady rain isn’t giving up. It’s nice. Bob’s idea of good weather is still crazy, though.

unfortunately not. Supposed to get hot again into the weekend and the week of the 4th.

Light rain last night and some of today. Must have got nasty at work (only 5 miles away) last night cause power at one of the companies in our park was out. Not sure how that happens with all the utilities underground.
