That’s not a lot of time, post-surgery. Add that to the weather conditions, especially if the old guy wasn’t hydrating, and that’s a bad night.

normally not a huge Wilco fan, but this laid back, lazy version of "California Stars" is pretty great.
they fuck it up around 2:30, the guy on banjo starts riffing and the drummer throws in some fillers, Jeff is able to collect himself and get back on track. Sign of a great band.

Holy shit, the new Muse release is a banger.
Youtube playlist of the whole thing.
But that last song. Yikes. Yes I've felt that, but it doesn't help to hear it. (And they aren't even American)

with (thank the merciful god) fall around the corner, Ocie Elliott always has a good vibe. Great sound, if you're looking for that quiet, earthy undercurrent.
also, and I hate to be 'that guy', but, my lord.. Sierra Lundy, the female half of the duo, is absolutely stop-the-traffic beautiful.

The cassette tape player from my sound system set up is still stored away in the attic, along with most of the rest of the system, well except the speakers, as the speaker cones "rot out".
It has a "killer" turntable, a direct drive manual Technics, which disc-jockey types used to make outlandish offers to take off my hands.
edit - what it doesn't have is a CD player, as those were after it's time.

I think if the Green Day tour bus crashed into the Dokken tour bus, it would sound kind of like that.

There’s another flavor that keeps showing itself but not enough for me to place it. I think it’s some of the guitar work that reminds me of the Mighty Mighty Bosstones doing Detroit Rock City, but I can’t be sure and I’m not going to spend any more time thinking about it.

Anybody here been to a Bouncing Souls show?
They're coming to Saint Andrews Hall in April, just wondering whether they'd be as much fun as I think they might.

I haven't, but I love Saint Andrews. Seen some great shows there. Just an old, vintage venue and, as a bonus, it's around the corner from The Detroiter.Floyd Robertson wrote:Anybody here been to a Bouncing Souls show?

Re: What are you listening to right now?
I'm thinking of buying a new internet connected receiver, possibly the Marantz NR1200. I'm currently streaming through an old cellphone connected to my old school Pioneer receiver. Any suggestions?
