Mom looking at the camera at 5am

Getting bigger but still clumsy on their feet. Starting to use their wings to try to keep balance.

We may need to keep an eye on Pantry to make sure he doesn’t pull a midnight raid in hopes of creating a dinner featuring the baby falcon version of veal scallopini.

I was thinking more like, Falcon under glass.

Mom leaving to dispose of another bird carcas.  The kids look pist there wasn't more in that course of dinner.

I’ve seen them standing up, facing out, seemingly waiting for the next meal.

Yep. Looks like they're squawking a lot.

They do seem to be getting potty trained. Most loads are fired over the ledge...many over the balcony too.

First time I've seen both parents at the same time in weeks.

Did anyone else have a problem with streaming a few hours ago? It looked like a camera problem but seems to be working fine now.

Yes. The screen was all green, or rather, a few shades of green.

I see the chicks are now sporting leg bands - so I assume they shut off the camera when they took them out of the box.  They did not have leg bands this morning.

I have been wondering when they would band them, but they said in last years video that they do it between 28-30 days.  They are not 28 days old yet but seem as mature or even more mature then when the chicks were banded last year.

Unless it’s somewhere else in the multiverse and MSU is sporting different team colors, for example, orange and gray.

Hard to believe they're only a month old.

The kids have been up for a while and look antsy that dinner hasn't arrived yet.  Wonder if mom and dad have managed to kill every bird within a half mile radius.  Maybe they'll finally get to taste squirrel?

Yesterday afternoon, all four were standing up, side by side, right at the edge, looking for mom and dad to deliver their next meal. It was pretty funny.

When will molting complete and flying the coop commence?

Quite a ragtag looking bunch.  Bet they could scare prey to death without touching them.



They're like dogs/cats with mouths often open trying to regulate the heat.  I want to put a bowl of water in the nest to see what they'd do.

One is getting impatient enough and bold enough to live on the edge. Quite the role model.

Dad. He’s smaller and doesn’t have a speckled chest.

First time seeing prey left in the nest for the kids to figure out.

No idea what the Club has named them but the one far left should be called Snowflake

On a side note, a mama deer just birthed two fawns in our backyard. I’ll try to get some pictures tomorrow, it was two dark to get clear pics when we saw her.

One stepped up on the ledge little while and lost its balance.  Damn near fell out.

I just witnessed one standing near the edge and flapping it's wings for about 20 seconds. I don't know if trying to shed some more or just get a feeling for how he wings are going to work.

Backed up and watched that.  Things are getting more interesting.

One has been on the ledge a few times, almost falling off...using its wings a lot. I think the first attempted flight is coming soon.

Doubt they would intervene. If one went overboard would be curious to see if mom/dad would attempt to get it back in the nest.

In this weather, a young bird wouldn’t last long on that hot roof. btw, one of the chicks is fully perched on the ledge right now. Might be the first one to try flying.

Two on the ledge now.  Mom and dad haven't been bringing prey back as much lately, like they're trying to starve them into flying.

I saw one of the parents check in earlier today, but I don't think it had even bothered to go the grocery store.

Also, a third chick is coming close to the ledge but hasn’t stepped up. Looks like it wants to but just not quite ready. Still getting its sea legs.

The one flapping now has a wingspan almost as wide as the nest opening.
