Shorts all day. Put work aside and spent hours in the yard, picking up whatever the land-based equivalent of jetsam and flotsam is. Lots of chatting with neighbors and passersby.

trail run this morning.. a few walks during the day. Quick bike ride around the block. Drinks and tunes on the deck, cooking in the cast iron skillet with windows open.

Intense storms swept through Kansas and Missouri on Wednesday and brought whipping winds, possible tornadoes, and what some described as “gorilla hail.”

In Kansas, hail nearly the size of a softball and measuring 4 inches (10 centimeters) was reported in the town of Wabaunsee and 3-inch (7.6-centimeter) hail was reported in Geary County near Junction City and Fort Riley.

Such a weird winter. Kinda wonder what this recent cold snap will do to the bug population, some of which already arrived with the early warmth. Haven't seen any bees yet, which is a good sign they haven't been fooled.

There was about an inch of snow on the car this morning when I cleared it off. The roads in Livonia were nothing more than a sheet of ice with a thin layer of snow on top. If anyone here is in Wayne County, be careful this morning. Wayne County Road Commission outdid themselves for incompetence today.

I'd enjoy snow more if I lived somewhere with a semi-reliable public transit system and I didn't have to worry about driving in it. Shit sucks.
