Big Ten basketball 2023-24

A place to discuss Big Ten basketball other than MSU specifically.

Anybody else watch the Wixcy-Nebraska game last night? Neb comes back from 19 down to win in OT, and the Asian guy for Nebraska had an off night.

I gave up on that game. I think a Nebraska loss would have been better for us. We don't play them again (and already lost to them).

Isn't it better for MSU to have teams that beat us win? Better NET, KenPom and all that. I get it that you want the teams ahead of you in the standings to lose if you have a shot at first place but I don't think that's the case this year.

I'd rather finish Top 4 and get the double bye. We're not catching Wisconsin (and they beat us twice anyway). We can still get by Nebraska. I hope.

Today in Big Ten Hoops we have one of the worst offensive teams in the country (Rutgers) going up against one of the worst defensive team in the country (Michigan).

That might be interesting in a macabre kind of way. Will tape to watch when I get home from Breslin.

I knew Northwestern was a fraud. I also view Purdues performance vs them as a red flag. Big Ten not looking so strong this year.

I knew Northwestern was a fraud. I also view Purdues performance vs them as a red flag. Big Ten not looking so strong this year.

There are some good teams (UNC, Tennessee, Arizona, UCONN, KU, etc.). If we can get a 6 seed, I could see us beating a 3 and getting to the Sweet 16. After that, I'll think we'll need some help.

On a good night we can hang with a lot of teams. UCONN looks poised to repeat. Kentucky’s red hot three point shooting has some potential. Our team can get red hot from threw.  Space the floor, hit threes and drive in layups and I think we’ll have a good run.

Good advice!  

I did watch the dumpster fire collapse in Ann Arbor but only the last 10 minutes of the game.   Is the take home point that bad offense beats bad defense so develop your team from the defense out?  Enjoyed watching KY get beat at home and always good seeing the Dukies go down.   Stayed up late enough to watch the chaotic ending of St Mary's - Gonzaga.

Wisconsin was 16-3...now 4 straight Ls, including UM and a 22 point loss to Rutgers today.

She certainly had health issues but still wanted to coach. Haller made the difficult decision and gave her a soft and financially great landing.

Personally I'm glad he did but not necessarily because Fralick looks like a great hire but more because Suzy looks so much better physically. No question in my mind the stress of the job contributed to her poor health.

Now she's spending time with her kids and coaching at St Thomas. I only hope she can reaches the heights I did coaching at the same school.
