2024 Solar Eclipse
The weather this winter has been extremely mild. Who knows what it will be that day?

We looked into hotels close to a year ago but everything had already booked up. Can’t remember where specifically, but my wife and BiL checked two or three states.

Living in the path would be cool. Traveling to the path to see it is likely chaos.tGreenWay wrote:The Pantry wrote:Monday April 8th. Still have cheap paper glasses from the 2017 event...they worked. That’s why I didn’t offer to help look for lodging. I didn’t want to go but agreed to tag along if they found a place to stay. Thankfully, it didn’t materialize.

If you plan on cocktails while watching is all I can think of. But that’s a to and fro type distance.

My BiL lives out east. They were looking for a midpoint and neither my wife nor her brother were interested in just a day trip. If they were going to meet up, they’d want to spend some time together.

Saw a partial eclipse last year. (No. I didn't drive anywhere.)
You need glasses to see anything. It's like night and day...

Back in 2017 saw the woman across the street standing in their driveway holding her newborn with one arm and staring up at the sun, shading her eyes with the other hand. Walked over and gave her an extra pair of goofy glasses I had.DWags wrote:I.B. Fine wrote:I fall about 10 miles south of the centerline.
