Called Comcast

On Sunday I installed my own modem and disconnected Comcast's.  It was actually a pleasant experience dealing with their customer service rep over the phone to give her my modem's serial/MAC.  The wait time on the phone was next to nothing.

Yesterday I took their modem back to the local customer service center so the $10/month could be taken off my bill. The very polite customer service rep asks if I'm interested in any other Comcast services.  I say no, my next step going to be cutting the cord and going OTA.  Within two minutes my bill dropped $20 a month and she threw in HBO/Streampix, another 80 digital channels I'll never watch and increased my internet speed.

When I left their store it felt like I exited another dimension in time/space where Comcast doesn't suck.

My roommates and I called and canceled the TV/Cable part of our Comcast package yesterday. Feels great to be paying less when we can just stream everything we need to watch anyway.

Anyone know of any good internet only deals out there?

So last Wed, Comcast disconnected the whole community. I lost my internet, even though I had paid the week before. They did end up reopening my account and keeping me with the same discounts, but I heard that they did this to everyone. 

One of my neighbors is ready to go back to Comcast because her Caller ID won't flash some cell numbers and won't give the name of callers on her TV through call waiting. I have also had an issue with a nephew of hers in Germany that can't email because his server is on an AT&T blacklist. Although some emails will go through, just nothing with an attachment.

I think I need to sign up with Comcast just so I can come back in a couple of months and bitch about how rotten their service is.
