That's why, when dealing with police... I explain where my license/registration are located and ask them for permission to reach for it before making any sort of movement.

To be perfectly clear, I'm not putting any blame on the gentleman who was shot... but I share that same fear, so long ago I made it a personal policy as a safeguard against making a sudden movement without announcing it and then they shoot me out of fear that I'm reaching for a weapon. I'd imagine the guy, seeing the officer pull up on him like that made him nervous and that's why he made such a quick movement into his vehicle for the item the cop asked for.

Something tells me he's going to have a sore asshole soon after hie trial.

Exactly. 1) the cops don't know who the hell you are 2) A lot of cops are not that bright to begin with and are PUNKS like this fuck who had NO real reason to shoot the guy.

Moral: Assume every cop you encounter is a stupid punk that will shoot you especially if you are Male, Black or Male and look in any way intimidating. Sad but true.

Clearly that guys is not properly trained. A. you don't let the guy live to tell his side of the story and B. the dashboard cam is supposed to malfunction. Then you can just sit back tell your one sided tale of events, wait for your buddies to not really do an investigation and then Fox News will handle the smear campaign on the victim. Then 'Boom', you're a hero.

Had to suck for that guy, btw. He didn't even get pulled over, was already at the gas station with visions of Doritos and Slurpees on his mind when the cop pulled up and in a blink of an eye, hot lead going through his body.

BTW, I don't reach for shit in front of a cop even if he asks me too.  If my ID isn't in my hand he has to go get it himself.   I take my hands out of my pockets if a cop says 'hello' to me.  I've had cops draw on me too many times (which is to say more than zero) to take any chances.  I already know how that news story will go.

I have a hard enough time with cop encounters; I couldn't imagine being black.
