Just arrived in Scotland. Place is going wild over the vote. They took their country back, just like we will take America back. No games!
Why Scotland if they voted to stay? I'm assuming he has a golf course there he'll be setting up shop from?

Yep. Just about 2 years ago Scotland voted to stay in the UK in an independence referendum 55% - 45%. Yesterday Scotland voted to stay in the EU 62% - 38%. Northern Ireland would be complicated for other reasons but I don't think those residents aren't going to welcome back border checkpoints and visas to drive about the island.

Trump is a candidate like no other. When he made that tweet he either didn't know Scotland's election results to stay in the EU or minimizes the reasons why Scotland had a recent vote on whether to remain as a member of the UK.

Parliament could still vote against leaving. By itself, the referendum does not obligate the UK to leave. But I doubt that will happen. The government will proceed with the exit.

Fuck, I really tried to educate myself on this shit. I read things like crazy, I'm still not quite sure.
Here's what I do believe, the U.K. by and large voted on keeping people the fuck out of their borders. That's what probably got them to pull the trigger. The rest of the shit they're going to start finding out, like me, piecemeal. That's probably never a good thing.

It would help if you, even if it was just a little bit, kind of knew what you were talking about.
Globalization and integration is under attack. The global market and trade will persist.
Your "libbies" comment needs more context, as it makes little sense as is. There has long been support across party lines in this country for neoliberal economic policies - both at home and abroad - as opposed isolating ourselves protectionist policies.

In theory, I like the decision, especially if they're unhappy with how things were being done in Brussels. However, I feel like this has a 97% chance of not playing out how they had hoped or how it was sold to them. Will be really interesting to follow this.

Newsflash: they will still be ruled over by London, and when Scotland tells London to fuck off I think it will be clear their preference as to who gets to rule over the Scots. I love this narrative that nationalism and isolationism somehow means less government. Sure, playing by EU rules was burdensome but the UK sure loved access to that single market among a range of other benefits. They will get that access again - they have to have it - but who knows what is lost in the meantime or how hard the EU makes negotiations.
The only way this goes the UK's way is if this becomes a trend. That could very well be the case. Globalization is very much so being questioned all over the world. That has been the case outside of the West, but those questions are finally being asked in the West.

Yeah it's pretty much the end of the world when Britain ends up ruling themselves. They've never done that before.....

If all the other proposed exit votes happen the EU will soon be a shell.

It's not the end of the world. That is a rather dramatic reaction.
But the potential for sabotaging their economy and broader country is real. Why did the referendum in Scotland fail? Largely because most Scots did not want to give up the pound and stability of the UK economy and forge ahead on their own. Now that reason is gone.

I'd agree and expand. I don't think anyone, anywhere knows how this will play out.
There will be 4-6 other countries watching very closely though and if it's not the predicted disaster then I think there will be more EU departures in the future.
I think the EU makes sense on an economic basis, the problem is that they've carried it well beyond that.

Getting back to tTy, guy correctly knew the markets don't like uncertainty so guessed right with the gold. Then when the markets did tank at first, the real smart money started buying shit up, then those that panicked kind of thought, well shit, now what? And everyone now is saying "fuck who knows" and it seems like it's all good now, just trade normally.
Meanwhile Putin lives this. I guess he has his reasons. A weaker Europe seems to be a good reason for him. Or is it? Fuck, we just don't know.
