I'm not worried
The Spartans are shooting 43.7 percent and making just 36.8 percent from 3-point range over their last four games. For the season, MSU is shooting 50.4 percent from the field and 41.3 percent from behind the arc.

I remember last year thinking when Bridges said he was coming back that if we were going to do this, it would be Langford and Winston having to be hot form the outside to really open up our offense and make it impossible to guard us. Langford, to me, seems to be in a slump. Maybe these 12 days will help him.

Re: 2017/18 Hoops Thread - Unfinished Business.
Langford has been off. I wonder if it is a bit because Cash has been hot and or go to 3-baller...Psyhco Quaid too. Saturday there was a possession that both Langford and Psycho Quaid were both open and 5 feet from each other. Cash dished to Quaid. Would be have done that in Dec/Jan? If your not getting looks you can go cold.
If there is a team that could benefit from an extended break it's MSU.

Why is MSU's big ten regular season title devalued partly because of a weak big ten (3 seed) yet SCum is shooting up the bracket seeding chart for winning the tournament and having a weak ass preseason. Can't have it both ways.

Pretty cool. Team is in Chicago tonight to see MSU grad Jonathan Kirkland in Hamilton. Pictures on Twitter. Here is a write up on Kirkland. Tomorrow Denzel vs. Deyonta at the UC.

I mean he is rating them based on their potential as a player, not relative to all other players at their position. I think the rating is fair considering his recent shooting slump, and consistent issues with foul trouble throughout the season.

Does seem a bit weird. Maybe his foul trouble. But how many games has he fouled out, vs. sat out because Izzo wouldn't play him with two in the first and 3 in the second? I'd tell him he's playing till he fouls out in the tournament. Fuck it. Play with the woman who bought you a glass of punch at the dance and you look at her and try to imagine her naked and you can't and you don't know why so you just think of naked women who would play with three fouls.

Totally agree Wags. As long he is over his pouty face game vs. Michigan, he plays till he fouls out. Plenty of other bigs to bring in if he does.

My brother bought up a good point... is this team too soft? Too religious? Who’s the “killer”? Aka Trice, Valentine, Kalin Lucas, Alan Anderson, etc...Shit Summers was cold blooded for us in 09-10. Hopefully Bridges catches that bug this tournament but man we could use some killer fucking instinct on this team.
Miss you Kalin.

I think Winston can be the killer on this team. I like what I see from him. McQuaid ain't shy either, I'd trust him to take the last shot of a tight game.

The too religious angle is stupid. Was the football team too religious in 2013?
I agree with Cameron, I think Winston is the guy who can be/should be the assassin on the team. I do like Miles iso'd with his back to the basket like they ran in the 2nd half last week, but I don't think in general he has the mentality. That might just be because I don't think in general he has the ability to create his own shot off of the dribble unless it's a pull up. Cassius has athletic limitations but can be really slippery.

Bridges showed some killer instinct in the second half of the SCum game, which has me encouraged. I think he's sensing the urgency of his career coming to an end.

Winston eventually, but not consistently enough yet. Mcquaid isn’t shy? Why has he disappeared for half of the season on and off then? Totally disagree with that.

Yeah, you're probably right on McQuaid. If he hits his first couple, he gets the confidence and I trust him. If he misses the first couple, he loses the aggressiveness and starts passing up solid looks. I guess what I should have said was that I trust him when he's feeling it. But that's so obvious that it's not worth saying, so I should have just left it at Winston.
