Two NFL ties this year....suggest a tiebreaking method

If the NFL was the NHL they'd have a field goal kicking contest to determine a winner. The shootout is the most idiotic thing in all of sports. Seriously, 65 minutes of a team sport boiled down to a one-on-one competition to determine a winner? No wonder the NHL gets lower ratings than female wrestling.

But, should the NFL come up with a sure fire way to determine a winner after 75 minutes of stalemate football? If so how?

Here are my ideas:

Nosetackles arm-wrestle for it.
Team's QB with the hottest wife wins.
Both punters punt the ball from the 20. The one that goes the furthest and stays in bounds wins.
Kickers can kick from a tee, furthest made field goal wins.
Kick, punt, throw competition to determine a winner.

Literal dick measuring contest. Longest average wins.

If neither can even manage a FG in OT, does either team deserve a W?

Leave it the way it is because football needs to stop making its rules even more complicated.

I hate to say this but I do like the college OT rules. Start teams out in long FG range and play it out that way. It's better than watching two teams dry hump each other between the 35s for 15 minutes.

College OT rules except start from the 35.

I think it's fine.

Easy. Play a 6th quarter. 7th and 8th if necessary. One team will eventually tire out before the other and cough up some points.

Fuck it. There is nothing wrong with a tie in football. The NFL didn't have non playoff ot until 1974.

Furthermore college should do away with it entirely. Half of the mystique of cfb is poll driven and fan bullshit. Ties would feed that.

Plays like the Desmond Howard 2point drop hardly happen these days. Coaches almost always play for the OT.

Different situation. Michigan was ranked #2 or something like that. A tie (remember there were no tiebreaker rules back then, if the 4th quarter ended tied, the game was a tie) with an unranked Spartan team was the equivalent of a loss.
