Random question, I returned a bunch of empties today.

I always am really good about making sure the beer is empty before I get a new one out of the fridge. I put the empties in a plastic bag, store them in the garage and then take them in when there's a heap of empties. When I empty the returnables the fucking bag is always wet, it smells awful, there a bunch of weird shit growing in the bag and when I put the cans in the machine it seems like inexplicably there's always a small sip worth of beer still in the can. WTF?

You should take the last sip out of each can before putting them in the machine.

I almost think K-Rod asks to be moved. It looked mental today, he looked defeated right when he went to the mound. If I were him I'd want to move back a spot just to take some pressure off.

Why is it the Tigers thing lately to pick up these guys at the end of their careers - once dominant closers - and think that they will simply never run out of gas?

I started my current job about 4.5 years ago. One of my first clients was the Milwaukee Brewers. I joked with them that I would give them extra hours if they would trade K Rod to the Tigers. That was 4.5 years ago. The guy is just done. It's sad. He probably doesn't want to believe it. Brad doesn't want to believe it, because it's the hand he's been dealt. But it's kind of embarrassing and really stupid to make this mistake again in the aftermath of Joe Nathan.

Tigers front office has no clue what they are doing with relief pitching.

This team had Verlander, Scherzer, Sanchez, Porcello and Fister in 2012. The best starting rotation this franchise will ever have and it was wasted because of a shitty bullpen. They didn't get it then and they don't get it now.

F Rodriguez should be packing soon.  Finding a quality closer takes skill like winning at Yahtze.  A guess and hoping the pitcher stays healthy and his head doesn't get messed up.

Either the book is out on him or he's lost speed, location or both.  

I've thought Chris Ilitch is in a holding pattern with the Tigers but a weak bullpen has gotten weaker.

The reluctance is there's nothing else. Say you find someone that can handle the 9th inning by rotating a few players around well then you have a problem in the 8th or the 7th or the 6th inning.

This team just does not have a winning hand with the bullpen. There's no strategy or decision that can make the problem go away outside of acquiring better talent.

frustrating. It seems that since the world series we've been searching. I will give the Tigers bad grades on picking and choosing who to get, but i also think when Illitch was alive they TRIED to get the bullpen in order. They did what they could, it certainly wasn't good, but they gave it an effort. This team will never make the playoffs with this bullpen. Just won't happen.
