Interesting bump and I have a couple of thoughts.

Brandon Johns was a great high school player but if Beilein couldn't make him a good college player I doubt Howard can.

Gabe Brown has a higher ceiling and I'm happy to have him here. Plus the kid is hilarious.

Great call by Dwags about B_ not being in AA in four years.

Finally, Randy Kinder was the best high school football player I ever saw. I get why he went to ND ( Jeff smith Dwags, I know) but he made a huge mistake football wise. If he comes to play for George he gets the ball 35 times a game and becomes an All-american and MSU legend.

Brandon Johns didn't want to be a Spartan and play for Izzo. He was offered early and Izzo was patient. Compare Johns waiting and Gabe Brown knowing he wanted to be in EL. Think Brown accepted in days, maybe hours.

Randy Kinder was the fastest HS player I've ever seen.
TJ Duckett was the best HS running back I have ever seen because he was fast and had power. Kinder would just run away from the defense. I felt sorry for the 185-195# LB's and the 160# DB's who saw TJ rumbling their way.

What if he’d played for Izzo; Gard, McCaffery; Painter or Underwood? All Big Ten coaches who also offered when Johns when he was at ELHS and are still coaching at their respective schools.

Brandon Johns was an inherited player and Howard made up his mind about him early on.

He graduated our daughter. She was the quintessential orchestra/theater kid. But she said he was always so cool to her, would laugh and hang out with the nerds just the same as the popular kids.

I appreciate about him and always wished him well.

It’s no secret that elite high school athletes are treated more favorably than common athletes. However, IMO, it was wrong to have given Brandon Johns the power to declare another student done with school. And where was this power when I wanted out?
