I think it's a mob mentality similar to the one I see all over the internet that vilifies Dusty Baker.

I am sure Lee Greenwood has been a personal favorite of yours since his 1987 halftime performance at Spartan Stadium. That song, the booming Howitzers and the huge American flag - it truly was The Great American Football Celebration.Robert J Sakimano wrote:I'll go with this one..NigelUno wrote:

the only thing that would make is more awesome would be if you had one of Lee Greenwood's thick, luscious chest hairs affixed to it.

Especially when it matters most. Verlander took some lumps in his postseason outings early in his career, but he has been an October force of nature since 2012. After logging a 5.57 ERA in his first eight postseason starts, he has posted a 1.61 ERA in his past 11.

I have that poster. How did you come by yours? eBay? What do you think one of those would go for?

before last nights game
LA's bullpen has allowed two runs in 28 1/3 innings this postseason
The polar opposite of the Tigers BP.

I removed the poster from the lobby of the main library the day after the game. I have no idea what it might be worth, though I doubt it would have any significant value. Unless you were at the game I am not sure why anyone would place much value on it (unless of course it had Lee Greenwood's chest hairs attached, then obviously the sky is the limit).tGreenWay wrote:I have that poster. Smoltz would have never made it in Detroit in the 90s.

Re: tWorld Series thread
I will always think of it as a poor trade. I know Alexander went 9-0 with the Tigers during the season (0-2 in the playoffs) but that was such an outlier for his career. He was 5-10 in 1987 before the trade and had an ERA north of 4.00. He was 37 when the traded for him and clearly at the very end of his career.DWags wrote:Smoltz is ok. Yes he got the Tigers to the playoffs, but nothing suggested he would anywhere near that type of success. The Tigers got lucky.

I normally hate when a players does not run out a bunt, but I am pretty sure the Astro's did not want him to run.
