Not sure if this was discussed in some other thread, but I think it was in this one.

This really should be funded as one of the top clean ups in the former superfund money.
KEWEENAW COUNTY, MI — Saving the reef won’t be cheap.
A new Buffalo Reef Task Force report estimates it will cost several billion dollars to remove 12.7 million cubic yards of copper mining waste called stamp sands which are slowly smothering an important fish spawning reef in Lake Superior along the Keweenaw Peninsula coastline.
The multi-agency report says at least $2.1 billion may be needed to remove the sands and deposit them in a new landfill that would have to be built somewhere nearby.

Wasn't even aware there were stamp sands in Superior. Thought the main problem was in Torch Lake. Remember seeing pics of some grossly mutated fish that got hooked out of it.Trapper Gus wrote:Not sure if this was discussed in some other thread, but I think it was in this one.KEWEENAW COUNTY, MI — Saving the reef won’t be cheap.

There was about a mile long pile from Gay out to the lake. It's been a moment but I thought the old sunken dredging barge could be seen at one end.

My mind are blown!
Barb's pasty in Clawson (been there on Main Street long as I can remember) is now available on Doordash. Can order hot, cold, or frozen. They even offer gravy, for you weirdos.

Copy and paste a pic from your phone while on mobile?
Pantry would know.

Maybe for the ten year anniversary we can modernize the features on this site.

Now you’re just lying.
You sound like you dye your hair orange and use fake tanning products. Just like your fake pasties that don’t exist.

Ordered Barb's last night. Use to sell only pasty, coleslaw, and some baked goods. Have since expanded their menu to include pizza, pasta, salads, etc. Ordered pizza to try. Was okay but sauce didn't have enough kick for me. Should have known better...never order pizza from a pasty shop.
Ordered a couple beef pasties. Gonna reheat one later in the air fryer. Haven't had Barb's in probably 8 years. Hope it doesn't disappoint.
Meanwhile, steve has never made pasty. If he hasn't learned how to post pics here yet, he's certainly not capable of making even a crappy pasty IMO.

Do you see Uncle Peter trying to sell pizzas? Nope. He’s too busy making the best pasties.
“ All our pasties are 3/4 lb and made with free range, grass fed, antibiotic, and hormone free meat, just like they were back in the day. We also take great pride in only using locally grown organic vegetables. So I guess you could say, we are the only ones truly using an original recipe.”
I think Barb’s uses that corn fed beef and the cows are pumped full of steroids. Blech! I’m going to attempt to post the pics again today.

I flip between laptop and phone. If I want to post a pic from my phone, do I just copy and paste into the host an image thing? And do you have to use laptop mode on your phone to do that?

Some Up North pasty shops also do pizza. Nothing wrong with having other items on the menu.steveschneider wrote:The Pantry wrote:Ordered Barb's last night. Nothing wrong with Uncle Peters but don't make it out like the best pasty on earth. Probably the only pasty you ever tried. There are much better out there...including homemade, which you will never accomplish.
Don't make shit up again, or bash Barb's if you never tried it. They've been in business a long time for a reason. Peters has only been around since 2009.
