Not a damn flake on the east side of Detroit yet. Every school has been called off for 4 hours, so I guess it's serious. Any Chicago or west Michgan guys getting flakes yet?

They downgraded the forecast to 4-7". It will cause a mess for rush hour, though, so I guess it's cool they called school off. Good for me because I can essentially wake up before my first meeting which is at 10. That is if my kids don't wake me up first. I told them I wanted them to stay up as late as possible tonight because I'm self serving.

Do any kids in your neighborhood knock on doors and shovel for money? In the 70’s I’d get a couple bucks per driveway. Five on my block and I was good. Except for miss Turner. I’d knock on her door and ask if she’d like her driveway shoveled. She’d say “oh yes thank you” shut the door and I’d be doing it for nothing.

No, but on my kids this is a true story: when I was just out of college her husband slipped and fell in his front porch and died. He had health issues. About 7 years later she died the same way. Same stairs. She had internal stuff and didn’t die for a while but maybe a couple weeks later. Pretty ironic. Guy from royal oak lives there in the summer. I was having a beer in my moms yard last year and told him the story. He said he knew and never planned on being there in the winter.

That's true here too. Some kids don't get decent food if they aren't at school. Should have delayed a couple hours at least, though.
