Mueller investigation outcome predictions (Poll)

The biggest question for me is when did Trump realize he needed to be re-elected to use the statute of limitations to escape things he thought would never see the light of day.

it means a lot of people thinking that Mueller and the GOP were coming to save America are going to be sad.

Doesn't matter what happens. It's been the single most successful investigation as far as indictments, pleas, convictions, and jail sentences of any administration in our history.

No new indictments from him...maybe he's just farming out any last discovered crimes to other jurisdictions. I mean, a guy can dream.

Rumors are sdny could be issuing some indictments as state crimes can't be pardoned.

Trump isn't out of the woods and AG Barr is the wildcard.

He could be one who subscribes to The Federalist Society ideals and will tolerate Trump so long as he nominates SCOTUS associate judges that have Federalist Society approval and Mitch McConnell and the GOP Senate keep approving "conservative" Federal judges.

On the otherhand Barr could be similar to Earl Warren, former GOP CA governor, CA AG and state GOP chair who was supported by the GOP nationally until he got to the SCOTUS and was something many Republicans abhorred.

I haven't kept up with it but I'm guessing the media is in a frenzy and the GOP who spent years demonizing the decisions made by republicans like Mueller, Rosenstein, et al. are now celebrating them and their decisions?

Why would Trump's team need to collude with Russia on something Russia was already doing (helping Trump)? It was always a question of conspiracy or obstruction. Which interesting enough wasn't "cleared". I'd bet, as usual, the investigation uncovered things on the periphery that will kill him. But buckle up. He's getting re-elected.

The thing that bothers me most is AG Barr took less than 72 hours to conclude there was no obstruction.

Mueller was never coming to save America.. it never mattered what he came back with, nothing was ever going to be done about it as long as it was being handled by corrupt politicians and/or political appointees with contempt for America.

Nobody knows what's actually in the report other than Mueller. I'd say that Barr doesn't even know - I'm certain he hasn't read it. He had his letter to congress written weeks ago, I suspect.

Apparently the report says the admin was open to colluding with Russia. My guess is the powers that be knew full well after years of financial dealings and shell games with his inner circle that they were a very dumb group. They already knew he's leveraged on a personal business scale which obviously would translate politically. Openly colluding with his band of misfits was probably pretty risky considering the scale of stupidity in that group. Kinda reminds me of the movie the "Falcon and the Snowman" it's always the idiot that blows it with their mouth. Either way they knew if Trump got elected with their interference he was going to do their bidding anyway.

What we don’t know is how many potential cases were shifted to the US Southern District in NYC.

We know Mueller was and is a straight shooter. There may be cases referred to the Southern District and State of New York that Mueller knew could be buried if it went to Trump’s AG.

yeah, I've said for some time now that Mueller was never going to do anything. That if anyone was going to do anything, it would be SDNY that takes down the racist, bigoted christian sexual predator.

we'll see - I just hope he lives long enough to see prison time. He's obese, loves fast food, has a drug problem, probably a lot of various diseases, etc - I don't want him to die - that would be the easy way out.

I read the investigation cost 25 million and 42-46 million has been tuned over to the government in real estate, assets, and cash from just the Manafort holdings. Can anyone confirm?

Getting progressives elected in order to change the system with regard to gerrymandering, the electoral college, and access to the polls is the only way to permanently change the rigged system. Assuming we're not dealing with a coverup, that should be the democrat's focus. If there's nothing more than assholery going on, we all know that he's a piece of shit, but dragging the country through more congressional investigations will backfire on the Democrats. I love the spirit of the new crop, but it's time for a united front to take control of all of the government and make bold moves to prevent this from ever happening again.

Here's another aspect of my feeling on this: Bob Mueller may have not done his job completely by refusing to make a call on obstruction. Maybe he narrowly defined what crimes he was looking at Trump obstructing and was only considering Russia stuff, but there may have been campaign finance crimes committed by Trump that were the actual reasons why he was obstructing. Where and when does that get looked at, if not in a supposedly nonpartisan special counsel investigation? We've all been so focused on Russia, and the president's weird behavior having something to do with that, what if his obstruction was actually about something else completely? Namely, the hush payments and everything surrounding them.
