That's either a misinformed, or pretty disingenuous, tweet. Testing has increased dramatically, which leads to more confirmed cases. It doesn't indicate how the number of all new infections has trended (which is impossible to know). New York, Michigan, and elsewhere have similar curves.

Also, it disregards the fact that Dade and Broward counties, where beaches have been closed for over a week, and which account for about half of the state's cases, continues to rapidly increase in the number of reported cases, so the guy's claim about the beaches being the cause doesn't fly.

Lastly, most of the people that you saw at those beaches in St Pete, etc. a week or so ago, weren't Florida residents and wouldn't be showing up on the Florida numbers, as they've taken it back to their home states by now.

Thanks, man. I have a friend that works in our local hospital. He’s terrified, and he’s seen some awful shit. Also said they aren’t even close to where the city is at. Also told me they have limktrd PPE and staff is getting sick. The stories down in the city are just so heartbreaking. I feel fortunate that I have a safe setup, a wife and can isolate well.

We can all have our opinions about how he has handled it. I mean it doesn't really matter, does it?
