Texas Effectively Bans Abortion..
oddly enough, the 'pro-life' Governor who gleefully signed this bill will preside over an execution of a black man in Texas tonight.
Caution: Mainstream Media Link
The Texas law effectively prohibits any abortion after around six weeks of pregnancy, before many women are even aware that they are pregnant.
The bill makes no exception for pregnancies that are the result of rape or incest.

Which is why I have been stating for years that the Republicans are trying to destroy the United States of America, since the basic creed of the country is that no one is above the law, yet all Republicans believe the opposite.

I'm at the point (been there for a while now) that you can't blame the Republicans anymore.. their stated goal is to destroy democracy, destroy America.. via corruption, violence, and voter suppression.
the problem is the Democrats. As Steve suggested, they're still trying to be nice.. they don't want the mainstream media and the GOP to say mean things about them.
Democrats are still playing the "when they go low, we go high" game. And America is dangling by a very thing thread because of it. If the Dems refuse to acknowledge it, 2022 will spell the end of democracy in America and Democrats will never hold a majority in any chamber again. Much less the White House.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next time the Repubs are in power even thought hey have control of the courts they just go ahead and pack the courts with more conservative judges just for the LULZ and to 'own the libz'.
Honestly there's enough blame to go around. At the end of the day I put the biggest amount of blame on the general public. It's just a stupid racist country that was so easily manipulated by greedy billionaires. Also, clock is running out for us all with the environmental disaster that's looming. Smoke em if you got em!

Well...
The Republicans can overstep what the country wants, and if they have they will be forced to back off or lose seats.
Even with their attempts to "chose their voters" if they go too far away from what the majority wants to happen they face risk.
The country is still building up to a clash of ideals, with Republicans egging on armed resistance and the Democratics egging on voting. The Vote is the most basic of rights, and if the Democratics can focus on winning more votes little elese matters.

Corporate Democrats benefit from the status quo as much as Republicans. We’ve been talking about this since at least 2016. The only reason the party seemed unified at times was because trump.

However the Democratic Party is much more diverse in its opinions and the willingness of members to act independently on them. Sure there are the right wing, at least for Democratics, members who shill for industry, however the Progressives, which are a significant force in the party, do not, generally, unless what the corporations want is also good for the little guys.

Still can't believe the far left weenies and limousine liberals would rather see a repub win than vote for a 'corporate dem'.
Saw someone post a flier from the 2016 DNC convention that a Bernie Bro was handing out for a meeting about how Hillary would be worse than Trump.

It's funny watching progressives blame a moderate Democrat from West Virginia for their woes. How dare he. It angers me to no end how he's singled handedly prevented progressives from winning elections.

Nah fuck it you came in with your usual dribble so you get to look like an idiot for doing that.
Here’s what Joe Manchin is up to right now
https://www.wsj.com/articles/manchin-pelosi-biden-3-5-trillion-reconciliation-government-spending-debt-deficit-inflation-11630605657
Here’s whose agenda it’s hurting (read- not progressives)
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2021/09/03/manchin-oped-threat-biden-reconciliation-bill/
So you see, those of you who would like biden to get his agenda passed are just absolute fools for looking at progressives and saying “wah daddy biden they’re mean” when really it’s captain dipshit centrist himself who is your problem. I guess it’s easier to blame people that aren’t yourselves when republicans steamroll you yet again though

Really don't know the law at all, however since the State is the authority then it would seem logical that anyone turning someone in is acting as an agent of the State and thus it is the State which is acting, thus the argument that it is not the State acting is a sham.
edit - this law is so screwed up that there are too many parts to point at as dumb, however the Supreme Court declaring that abortion can be banned at 6 weeks based on bad editorial falsehood, aka fetal heartbeat, which doesn't exist as a thing, shows how the rwnj's have corrupted the court. What is growing in a womb at 6 weeks is not a fetus and it has no heart.

To be somewhat fair you are comparing a guy who was Governor of his State and is really good at what he does, aka getting elected as a Democratic in the reddest State in the Union on a state wide vote to a local gal who just doesn't have the breath of experience he has.
