I dont have many MSU stories that happen to me in public down here, so when one happens two days before this game, I take it as a good sign. I go to a store and this guy sees my shirt (Gruff Sparty shirt), and says, "You went to Michigan?" As I start to say something, he caught himself and changes it to Michigan State and starts apologizing profusely, saying, "I'm so, so sorry, I know, my buddy would kill me if he heard me say that." Turns out his best friend is Donald "Butch" Rolle, MSU TE in the mid 80s (and then for the Bills).

So while it started with me about to rip his tongue out, it ended well, with a few laughs and a "Go Green".

I always forget I'm wearing a Spartan mask. The guy running the meeting today was super cranky, especially toward me. I just chalked it up to him having a bad day or whatever. When I was walking out a lady in the hall gave me a "Go Green". Dude in the meeting was probably a Mich fan.

Butch Rolle was an excellent player. I wonder if he has any kids looking to suit up for Spartan athletics.

First half of that game was tight, but still never felt at all in doubt. Then they just buried them/Gardner in the 2nd half. I actually like Gardner, seems like a good dude/atypical Mich player. That game makes me laugh/smile everytime I think of it.

We have endzone seats and that Nardog-era D was awesome to watch teams try to run. Never a hole or even a crease. RBs would just slam into a wall over and over. It was beautiful to watch.

One of my favorite Spartans. Sometimes it was like a runaway freight train rolling downhill. I would have been scared too.
