The first Presidential election I participated in was Ford vs Carter. I remember Eisenhower (2nd term) because my folks disliked Nixon), Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon before I could vote and everyone since.

That's POTUS 34 thru 47 and its the only time I recall the FBI raiding a former POTUS retirement residence.

The sad thing is there are so many reasons that they could be there.

Though I tend to think that after his lawyers were raided, and the reports that he was being investigated, that he had some "cleaners" go in and get rid of everything incriminating. Hopefully this gut feeling is on par with kingston's though.

There is definitely a strain of conservatism running through Trump and his supporters. If a core belief of conservatism is upholding tradition and overseeing only the most incremental political and social change, it partially fits Trump and his supporters.

They see disruption to their preferred racial hierarchy, as well as rapid disruptions to social norms relating to gender, sex, and sexuality. They find these disruptions threatening. Where they differ is in the extremism.
