Yep! There is no way on God‘s Earth that anyone will ever be able to say that was advantage MSU. I think we were lied to., and I think the city of East Lansing got screwed, as well as our seniors on the team and we always play Penn State tough on our home field


That said, I hope nobody thinks I’m close minded enough not to see him as doing a fantastic job so far in a mess that was handed to him as far as coaches go

Either way, outside of this board, you all know, I am pretty loyal to our school , probably to a fault.

This was a great hire girls Basketball was a great hire, I hear volleyball is considered a very good hire, by all accounts, it looks like football might be a great hire

"Adam Nightingale is getting a contract extension after leading Michigan State to its first Big Ten hockey championship.
He signed a five-year rollover contract that is worth $600K in base salary and a $100K supplemental compensation the first year, increasing $25K each season."

I haven't looked at what other top coaches are being paid, but anything under a million sounds weak. I know it's not a revenue sport, but still.

I was a little surprised. He was making similar to the Volleyball Coach, and he's (still) less than the Women's basketball coach. Women's hoops must have more revenue with the Tournament. And more TV revenue in general.

I don’t have any way to judge this, but I’m assuming most coaches bring in more money than their salaries are worth. in football and basketball at Michigan State. I believe it’s off the charts. But I also think, this year, definitely next year and beyond will bring in a lot more money with more eyes on the television ears on the radio merchandise being sold, and been bought. Michigan State hockey coach that’s bringing success, excitement and winning back is worth at least seven figures.

Last regular season game Saturday 3/2/24
skip the first week of B1G tourney
play on Sat 3/16/24 in B1G semifinal (2 full weeks before playing)
win and play Sat 3/26/24
lose and get 2 more weeks off, and you play in the NCAA first round on 3/28 or 3/29

I hate bye/off weeks, IMO it doesn't help a team that is used to playing every week, let alone 2 games a week

How do you coach that? Same with women’s basketball?

Is it legal to bring in teams to scrimmage? There are some pretty great hockey teams in the area that could help our guys get a good sweat up waiting to play again.
