one person on US soil has died from it.. so.. so, yes, now would be a good time to listen to the mainstream media and panic like you've never panicked before.

Re: Ebola......
OK, serious question(s) here...
If this dude in Dallas left the hospital, sick as fuck, and came back two days later and only THEN infected a nurse who was allegedly dressed head to toe in full hazmat gear, how many people on the outside are going to come down with this shit in the next couple days? Is it even possible that he did NOT infect someone else if he was sicker as shit as advertised when he left he hospital for 48 hours, given that we are told that victims are contagious when showing symptoms of ebola?
He went to the hospital first on 9/25. The incubation of this particular strain is something like 21 days, give or take.... By Thursday this week (10/16/14), I would expect that at least another case or three will pop up, again, give or take a couple days depending upon the actual incubation period....

Assuming the people even report it, rather than just die at home.

I did the conservative math on this thing earlier - that post was only representing a growth of 2 transmissions per infected carrier.....and yet the results are startling.tTy wrote:OK, serious question(s) here...

Re: Ebola......
Another follow up.
Can we be 100% sure that this nurse was infected by Duncan on his second visit, especially given that they don't even know HOW she was infected? Also, how could she be exhibiting symptoms a week earlier than the reported 21 day + or - incubation period could possibly allow? Are we 100% sure that she was not infected on his initial visit somehow? Are we 100% sure she was definitely infected during his second visit and directly from Duncan himself?
There are a lot of unanswered questions here.... If there was in fact a "breach in protocol", what exactly was that breach? Or is the CDC just throwing bullshit at the wall until something sticks?
The truth probably is more likely that none of them know any of the answers to these questions as 100% fact.

Looks like I was mistaken. The mean incubation period in the current outbreak is 11.4 days.

Making a Costco run and stocking up on beer, bourbon and water this weekend. Not a survival tip, but it is in my "in case shit does down" manual.

Why do you ****ing dicks have to make everything political? Can't we just stick to the subject at hand?
US Ebola deaths, O/U 1000.5
Tally:
1 currently dead
1 working on being dead
X,XXX potential future infections still to be determined

There was an near outbreak in Virginia I think... bunch of infected monkeys and they were ascart that it was airborne at the time because monkey's in a different room somehow were infected too, I believe. I could be wrong on some of this.... They ended up nuking like 400 of em and one of them almost escaped.
I'd google it, but you are very likely capable of doing that for yourself.
