I threw this together, not as a logo idea, but as some thought starters for other types of postings, elements, or whatnot...

Also, my fiance has some serious photoshop/illustrator skills. I've indoctrinated her to root for the Spartans and hate the Wolverines so I think she'd do a good job.

If you guys come up with a reasonable concept, I could probably get her to make it come to life. It has to be good she's not going to waste time making a POS.

I'm loving the rejected spartan head deal. I don't think we need the bourban. I like the idea of the drunken bubbles and such. Maybe expand a little on that? Also, I don't necessarily think "spartan" is redundant but I bow to the masses.

SRC... we don't need a new logo... we need a logo. The flexing Sparty is cool but it's not unique. Anyway this is fun.

Explanation : I think saying "spartan swill" explicitly is important because of its play on a very active MSU branding campaign. Just "Swill" can easily miss the joke.

Yeah, something different for Christmas. tWife and I (no pics) got kinda burned out towards the end of decorating them though. Think we ended up with 15 or so of those guys. They didn't taste all that great but they're more for show than eating.

I'm liking the direction this is going.  If it's possible to do "spartan"  In white and superimpose it in the crest, I think that's a pretty interesting option too.

I like fucking around in Photoshop. I'm basically confined to my home because of my little brats, it gives me something to do. I'm just not very talented. I'm working on something else, not sure what direction to go with it. I'll post that once I clean it up as well as an option with the white letters inside the crest.

You can always use Gimp (GNU Image Manipulation Program). It's free and it's powerful. It's not user friendly, but there are lots of online tutorials. That's what I use. It can do just about everything that photoshop does and there are lots of plugins available as well.

I don't really know what to do with it but there was a badass picture of Coach D online so I cut it out and posterized it. Probably not good for a logo but could be fun for some other "Where's the threat?" type of photoshops.
