East Lansing voters OK marijuana proposal

EAST LANSING – Marijuana decriminalization advocates scored a victory Tuesday as voters approved a charter amendment that removes city penalties on small quantities of the drug by nearly a two-to-one margin.

The proposal repeals the city's marijuana laws and allows the use, possession and transfer of up to 1 ounce of the drug on private property by people 21 and older.

"We are pleased the voters supported us tonight," said East Lansing attorney Jeffrey Hank, who chairs the Michigan Comprehensive Cannabis Reform Initiative. "It's very clear with the results tonight on Proposal 1 and the sales tax, the conversation should start tomorrow with Gov. Snyder and the Legislature on a reasonable plan to legalize, tax and regulate cannabis in Michigan."

I wouldn't recommend walking around with a quarter, it doesn't say in the article when the laws are repealed. That being said, if you've been smoking this whole time and haven't been caught, it might be best to stick to that plan a little longer.

My guess is that campus is state land and therefore state jurisdiction, so state laws apply.
Same principal used to eliminate alcohol from campus (legal alcohol)

It has, now I've got a legal pot shop down the road selling 12 strains and doing advertised specials in the paper.

Between Grayling and Luzerne. There are dispensaries all over up here, I've seen 8-10 without even looking for them.

Have not been over the bridge (Up North) in 15 years. Is Hiawatha on US-2?

Both parents were from the Calumet-Laurium area. Have a handwritten copy of my mom's pasty recipe along with Lehto's (apparently it was published long ago). Tried making my mom's recipe a couple years ago. Came out tasting great but lacked on presentation. Obviously need work on my crimping skills

There use to be nothing in Naubinway but a fairly nice Shell station with a gift shop. Definitely need to get back up there. Last time I went to the Keweenaw was sorta shocked to see a McDonalds near the Houghton Bridge.

East Lansing could use a good pasty shop. Izzo would probably agree.

Generally dry except if the pasty is super hot, in which case I like it with cold butter slivers to help cool down each bite.

Gravy only if the pasties are really shitty...the cause of which is generally because the dough recipe is either bad or was improperly made.
