The article doesn't mention the "among others" rule changes.. did those others get approved also? Like when timeouts could be called ?

That's not the real problem. Shitty officiating and too many stoppages in play is the real problem, not shot clock length.

NCAA adopts men's basketball rules, including shorter shot clock

Beginning next season, the NCAA men's basketball shot clock will be 30 seconds, not 35.
Men's college basketball will look markedly different next season — which is how the game's powerbrokers want it.
A month after drastic changes were proposed by the men's basketball rules committee, affecting everything from the length of the shot clock to the amount of timeouts given to each team, those proposed changes have been officially adopted.
The NCAA announced the news in a tweet Monday afternoon, confirming that Division I men's basketball teams will play with a 30-second shot clock, a four-foot restricted-area arc and with four timeouts instead of five (with no more than three carrying over from the first to the second half).
The measures are aimed at improving the on-court product after a regular season marked by low-scoring, slow-paced games. Expanding the charge circle is expected to reduce the amount of collisions in the low post as well.
On the women's side, games will now be structured in four, 10-minute quarters, and arenas will be allowed to play music in deadball situations.
Among other men's rules adopted:
— Players will be given a six-foul limit during 2016 postseason play other than the NCAA tournament.
— Officials can consult video monitor feeds for potential shot clock violations throughout the game, not just in the final minutes.
— Teams will be awarded one shot when opponents are called for technical fouls for hanging on the rim or delay of game.
— The five-second, closely guarded rule while dribbing the ball is eliminated.
— Dunking in pregame warmups and halftime warmups is no longer prohibited.

Forgot about the warm-ups dunking rule. How the hell did that rule ever get on the books anyway?

Would assume it was back when breaking the rim/backboard was much easier

I am arguing with a friend that says Wisconsin is changed. They certainly did in the last 2 years, but I think they'd be back to their traditional game that we saw through the 2012-13 season.CORNER BLITZ wrote:RIP Wisconsin

Would be kind of funny if Bo announced his retirement a couple of hours after the tweet went out.Townie wrote:I am arguing with a friend that says Wisconsin is changed. This. That and too many FTs. Move the bonus to 10 fouls

Women's game just made a change that men should adopt - they went to four 10 minute quarters which means teams will now reach the bonus and shoot two free throws on the fifth team foul in each quarter.
Also can we just have a replay official instead of the huddle we have now? Too many stoppages in play / too much staring at people crowding around a 15 inch monitor.

They changed for 2 years when they actually had some athleticism. After all they lose, they will be right back to their bullshit we love to hate. Just 5 seconds faster now.
