That was interesting. Timely, too, because after watching some Viking-related dramas recently, I'm quasi-obsessed with them.

My Family’s Slave

She lived with us for 56 years. She raised me and my siblings without pay. I was 11, a typical American kid, before I realized who she was.

He's on one of the current reality shows. I'd thought he was kind of a phony on there but this article told me I was probably dead wrong. He's an interesting character though.

The series is ok but not great. Some decent characters to watch.

There's still a significant amount of lost "treasure" in Wyoming. Miners and rr workers were paid in silver and the payments were held up quite often. Sometimes the loot was stashed never to be recovered when the perp met an untimely end.

Found this one fascinating:

I am not a fan of his per say, but I do like people that are kind of rebellious. I like that he so obviously doesn't want to do this but seems contractually obligated to do press for his movie.

Don't read this while hating UNC....pretty tough read for a parent.

A DECADE OF HOPE

UP THE BEIGE carpeted stairs and a quick turn to the right, Charlotte Ray arrives in the room where she goes to remember.

She pulls out the black leather chair from behind her son Jason's desk, puts her feet atop the University of North Carolina Tar Heels stool at the foot of the bed and escapes. She looks at the quilt on his bed, made from 59 of his old T-shirts and remembers the laughter and joy in every one of them.

The room has gone virtually untouched since March 26, 2007, the day Jason died. It's a moment frozen in time, with window curtains kept closed to keep the sunlight from fading any of the memories.

"I like to come in here if I'm having a bad day," she says. "I'll sit here and remember him lying in that bed as a little boy. I can see him lying there doing that. It brings me some peace of mind."

This is the boyhood room of a 21-year-old college senior who had dressed up in a yellow-horned ram costume to portray North Carolina's team mascot, Rameses.
