I've heard 2 or 3 rumors from decently connected people. Don't really believe any of them.

Re: So... What did Bullough DO?
It's pretty tightly kept. I know players from that 2013 team (and not scrubs, as one was a defensive starter) that didn't know what he got suspended for.
Those players and I both have similar thoughts on what happened, but no one knows what happened still. It really is a mystery.

Because you don't need to know.
Dantonio and Bullough decided to keep the reason between selected people at MSU, Bullough and his family. Bullough's family is good with it. So much so they have two more sons on the team, Bullough's NFL team is good with it. LAKS, Hollis and Dantonio's staff are good with the decision to limit who knows as well.
Long term it's a good decision. Current and incoming players along with their families know that Dantonio and MSU isn't automatically going to toss a player and the player's reputation to the 24/7 media wolves.

Because I don't definitively know, and don't want to say it if it's the wrong reason. I also don't really think some habits Max used to have at State need to be disclosed on a message board.
But if the teammates didn't really know, then I imagine it's something that won't get out for a long time, so I don't worry about it anymore.

His girlfriend knows but she wouldn't tell me or any of her best friends, even after a few drinks. She did dispel some rumors though so she really narrowed the field of possibilities.

I remember another football player a couple nights prior tweeting him late one night, seemingly concerned about his well being.
My guess was something alcohol related.

I don't know if this is true, but after several cocktails a couple of months ago, one of the coaches told me MB was suspended because he removed the tags from someone else's mattress.

If he got busted by the Mattress Police, there has to be a paper trail somewhere.

That makes it sounds like Dantonio had a choice. I always figured it had to be an NCAA drug test. It can't be some legal issue because it never made the papers. I just can't see him being suspended over some secret thing he otherwise would have got away with (and have everyone speculating, have to explain to NFL, etc).
Somehow I think it must be really bad whatever he did. No need to keep it a big secret otherwise and have people think the worst. But that is the route they chose. Unfortunately, it will always put a black mark on the Rose Bowl, at least until Max has the courage to speak.

Understand everything except the black mark on the Rosebowl. Squad loses its undisputed leader< guys step the hell up, put all the silly visits beside them that week, hunker down, double their efforts on film and in practice, end up making winning plays. Shows we are a program not just a team. Just my opinion

Re: So... What did Bullough DO?
I disagree with this statement. Had MSU lost, and had they lost because the Mike (did I get that right?) screwed up, it would have been a huge story. Instead, his backup got the DPOG award. I do agree that I think it was drugs. If I had to guess, it was snorting adderall, or however you spell it. At the very least, I think he was caught by his parents, then they reported it to CMD. With there being at least a chance of a drug test before a bowl game, (they can do that right?) the safest thing would be to suspend him before the game. It had to bbe worse than weed, though, because no one gives a fuck about that.Herbie Green wrote:DWags wrote:

That or something happened in TC, but if there were other people involved, someone would have said something by now.

Yeah, I've been passionately told by Wolverine fans that they are, without doubt, one billion percent certain, swear on their kids health, got it from a source within the MSU athletic department, Delany made a deal to keep it out of the headlines, that Max and the whole team were on roids like Mandarich was.
I chuckle. Fuck them.
