Random Ramblings

Invited cruise singer and my sons out for breakfast this morning. Ended up one son didn't show up because he didn't get to sleep until 5am.

Was interesting catching up with cruise daughter...stays with kitten while in town. Sorta thinking she's lost her mind during the tens of thousands of nautical miles she's spent on cruise ships the past couple years.

She'll be in town until April before heading to Miami for rehearsals for her next gig on Navigator of the Seas. Will be her longest contract. May to November cruising Europe from the Mediterranean to the Baltic, then back to Miami for alternating Mexican and Caribbean 5-9 days trips into February.

Told me today she wants to be an Uber driver until going back to Miami. Didn't let on but am horrified.

We must be only a couple of weeks away from the release of Hopslam.

Out of all the different type of artists, for example painters, sculptors, writers, etc., it seems like musicians are the only ones who frequently collaborate with each other.

Why are north and south always mentioned first in directional compound words? Detroit isn't located in east south Michigan. Phoenix isn't in the desert west south.

What's up with that?

Probably because North and South have define ends, the poles.  The east and west are nebulous.  They could begin and end literally anywhere.

Those Aspercreme Lidocaine patches are great for achy knees and shoulders. The gel cream works great, too, but doesn't last as long.

If I post a few more of these idle thoughts, I'll have enough for a Joe Falls column. This, BTW, is also an idle thought and therefore counts toward my column.

I forgot to mention the patches and gel work well on back pain, too.

Almost done with my column.

The Lidocaine, which numbs the pain, doesn't help with the pain from cracked skin on hands. It actually increases the pain. Isn't that ironic?

I don't miss Alanis Morrissette.

I've driven past Holly a million times but never actually been there. I'll bet it's nice.

Wouldn't the existence of alternate universes involving the same people interacting with the same people in different circumstances dispel the notion of randomness or chaos theory. That, in fact, there is a sort of fate for us all?

I've always considered alternate universes to be completely fiction and isn't there a little science behind chaos theory? I am no gingerbread engineer maker but I don't think chaos theorists subscribe to notion of a "parallel universe"
