Hey Goose, can I have any boots hobnailed? I have an old pair of Keen winter boots that have almost no tread left but is otherwise in pretty good shape. I'd like to see if they can be hobnailed for when it's extra slippery and I'm out walking the dog.

So they're only being used for walking? No oppression action planned?

The Sheridan might hold up under oppression usage, I'd have no faith in their other models.

As they grow old, do spiders wake up a couple of times a night just because they have to spin silk?

Do you ever wonder if spiders make an o-face when they spin silk?

The Maine Farm That Inspired Charlotte’s Web Is Up for Sale
White purchased the property with his wife Katharine in 1933, three years after publishing his first book of poems and nearly two decades before publishing Charlotte’s Web. The idea for the story was first planted in his head when he saw a spider fabricating an egg sac in the corner of his barn. He collected the sac and stored it inside an old candy box where it sat for weeks before erupting into a swarm of tiny spiders. Rather than reacting with terror, White was awestruck and got to work writing a novel about a literate spider and her pig friend.
The same barn that housed the original Charlotte is included in the listing for the 44-acre property. The North Brooklin farm also features ponds, an 18th-century farmhouse, a guesthouse, and the gardens Katharine White spent decades cultivating.

Whoever came up with the idea that it's good luck to have a bird poop on your head must've been a parent trying to make their kid feel better. It ain't good luck. It's bird shit on your head, clothes, whatever.

Head and back of jacket for me. Happened while out walking the dog in a nearby neighborhood. Birds must be pissed that I've never invited them over for a meal.

Makes you sad doesn't it Wags? I was being sad last night for Mr. & Mrs. Rosquin....buried their oldest son at 22 and their oldest daughter at 39. Both MSU grads. He's passed but Mrs is still with us. I had my grandson over and was thinking how they never got that...made me want to cry. Damned nice people that always treated me well that had some really bad luck. I can't even imagine the heartbreak of burying my 2 oldest. I've told all my kids that I want to die before any of them.

Re: Random Ramblings
Some of you may remember that a month or so ago I had a refrigerator begin to die. Consumers Power gives you $50 for your old appliance if you buy a new one. So after I got my new fridge I put the old one in the garage for them to come pick up. They were
just here and I guess the $50 comes later in the form of a check but left me a goodie box with night lights, some cool LED light bulbs
and an energy monitor to determine usage.
Not a bad deal at all compared to paying to take the thing to the dump somewhere or giving it to the company bringing your new appliance.

A few years ago I got a special offer in the mail from CP. I don't remember what the catch was (other than it didn't cost me a red cent) and they sent me an energy-saving package with some light bulbs, shower faucet head and other goodies. CP is nice people, I guess.
