Texas A&M gets the annual SEC BRO bump, even though Washington really deserves it.
WMU is ranked WAY too low, even for a MAC team.

WMU should be dropped seven spots for the uniforms they're wearing tonight.

I'm a little surprised Georgia is ranked over Bama. Probably the road win vs ND.
I also think that, for the most part, 3-7 are somewhat interchangeable. Lots of tackle football still to be played, though.

Maybe this will serve as a wakeup call to the likes of Wisconsin and Miami.

I guess Miami woke up and scheduled Notre Dame next week.
As for Wisconsin, we will have to see if an undefeated Big Ten team gets left out of the playoffs.

I enjoyed Harbie's remarks that he supported 16 teams in the playoff. I'm assuming he thinks he could sneak the boyz in then.

Miami's Strength of Schedule is similar to Georgia and OSU, and better than Alabama. They've had some close games, and are hurt a bit by FSU struggling.
Games with VT and ND should clear things up quite a bit (for all of those teams).

Re: CFB Playoff rankings
hurts me to say it, but the top 3 teams in America are probably Alabama, Georgia and {urgh} Notre Dame. ND has the best loss of all of the one loss teams.
They also have a relatively easy remaining schedule, as compared to Georgia, 'Bama, and Ohio State. I think of Ohio State wins out, they're in. ND wins out, they're likely in, too.
the real question is will a one loss Georgia or Alabama team get in? One of them will have (at least) one loss.

Bama's SOS will jump up significantly after playing LSU, Auburn and (likely) Georgia.Floyd Robertson wrote:NigelUno wrote:

unless there is a rash of top teams being beaten (which could happen), Miami will be on the outside looking in. Their SOS isn't likely to get much higher. I suppose if they beat Clemson in the ACC Championship game, they'd be undefeated and have at least an argument. Would be difficult keeping an undefeated team from a Power 5 conference out.

Miami has VA Tech this weekend, ND next weekend and then yes, they would have Clemson. If they were undefeated after beating those 3, I think they'd be in. I don't think they'll beat ND, and they will be lucky to beat VT.Robert J Sakimano wrote:Bama's SOS will jump up significantly after playing LSU, Auburn and (likely) Georgia.Floyd Robertson wrote:

Well according to Nate Silver there is a 3% chance of an undefeated Wisconsin missing the playoffs. Idiots here would call that better than a 1% chance.
They are currently behind 4 teams that could also win out:: Georgia/Bama, Clemson, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame.

Oklahoma's loss to Iowa State looks better now than it did then. Plus, they put a double-digit beat down on Ohio State in Columbus.Herbie Green wrote:Death Roe wrote:Are there any of the idiots on here still that think an undefeated or 12-1 Big Ten team gets left out of the playoffs?

They are at 98% in if they win out.
Interestingly, Silver only gives Notre Dame a 64% chance if they win out. This would seem to indicate a big boost for conference championship winners. But his model has never had to account for a Notre Dame factor.
Also one has to wonder if the Big Ten losing by a total of 69-0 in the last two playoffs would be a factor if they were in a battle for the 4th and final spot.

I hear you but I am rooting for Notre Dame because I am rooting for chaos. And fuck Ohio State too, because they got in for sitting at home last year.

What do you mean by the bolded part?
ND was ranked #10 in the first CFP Poll in 2014.
ND was ranked #5 in the first CFP Poll in 2015.
Are you saying he didn't account for a ND factor then?
