Which is why it's pretty puzzling to me that some of those people voted for it. I kinda get the ones where Clinton won by 16. They might think they're fucked no matter what. The close ones though I don't get.

Can somebody post the clip of Paul Ryan complaining about ACA 8 years ago, saying they didn't have enough time to even debate it, that they didn't allow the CBO to crunch the numbers for them to look at, and that it was wreckless to do such a thing?

You have a child born needing major surgery within weeks of birth you are SOL.
Neonatal ICU and you can burn through the $300K annual limit with one family member.

Remember how ObamaCare was sold to the public: If you like your plan, you can keep your plan. It will lower premiums by $2,500, increase choice and competition, make health care affordable, create jobs, cut the deficit.

None of those promises came true. In 2013, millions discovered that the "keep your plan" promise was a lie — PolitiFact gave it the "Lie of the Year" award — when they started getting cancellation notices from their insurers. The Obama administration scrambled to minimize the political fallout by letting some keep those plans.

While Obama repeatedly promised a premium cut thanks to improved efficiency in the health care system, the opposite occurred. Workplace premiums for family plans jumped 9.4% the year after ObamaCare became law, and rose $4,767 from 2009 to 2016. ObamaCare premiums are going up at double-digit rates.

As for choice and competition, consumers have fewer choices in most markets today than they did before ObamaCare. In a third of the nation's counties there is only one. That share will increase next year as Aetna and others pull out of still more markets amid massive losses. It is possible that there will be zero in many markets next year.

Affordability also turned out to be false promise. To keep costs down, insurers jacked up deductibles into the $6,000 range. Even then, premiums for most ObamaCare plans are hugely expensive, particularly for those eligible for only partial subsidies or none at all.

Last year, CNN quoted Larry Levitt, at the Kaiser Family Foundation, saying that under ObamaCare, "The middle class are getting squeezed. They aren't getting subsidies and these deductibles are hard to afford."

Here's my point, I'm lucky. I won't worry about this shit now. Im not goi g to be touched by any of this, so, we'll just sit back and see what happens. Everyone of these politicians can say anything they want. Tell us anything. I don't give a fuck. This shit will either be good for these people that voted GOP or it's gonna suck for them. Say what you want, theorize what you will, but bills are real at your home. Doctor appointments and health care will either be affordable or not. The medical budgets of households will go up with the same type of care or go down, or won't be able to be acquired anymore or maybe new and great care will open up for people. But real money vs real care will be found out by the voters and the words of the politicians won't mean shit. People will find out.
If the Dems believe this shit sucks they should stop talking and just say "we don't have the votes, we think this will hurt most of you and help fewer, we apologize for not being able to stop this and we hope we'll be able to help you after 2018 or 2020." Then let the GOP own this. Either they get the glory, or a ton of grief. I know what I believe is going to happen. But I've been wrong a billion times before.

The biggest item Trump and major GOP donors wanted to see was the rollback of the taxes on the top 1%.

The GOP House concerns about deficit spending disappears when they pass bills like TrumpCare.

I know that before the ACA employers were already shifting healthcare costs to their employees through higher deductibles and co-pays and choices of doctors were dictated by the health coverage chosen by the employee.

They were able to get the requirement that states expand Medicaid reduced to voluntary, and they chopped out funding that was intended to stabilize the insurance market with the influx of sick people. Both of these things are what led to providers beginning to abandon the program. That's it. The problems with Obamacare are 100% intentionally caused by republicans. It's sick and disgusting.

Even with that sabotage, it's still alive. It could be repaired. These fuckers refuse.

Was there a news blackout in Mio for6 years or did you fail to notice that the GOP House was only interested in full repeal of the ACA and wouldn't let any proposed changes (like drug coverage/procurement/pricing) out of committee?

It was full repeal or nothing because the GOP didn't want to do anything to improve on what the Democratic Congress and President had passed and signed. That would have meant admitting there were positives in the legislation the vilified from the first day it was proposed..

Besides the lifetime and annual caps the promised pre-existing condition exemption is covered through 2020 under the House passed plan. Time for those affected to vote for Republicans two more election cycles before they require a proctologist to tell them they took it in the ass.
