Justified was awesome. The season with Mags Bennett (I think S3?) was probably the best.

Justified peaked season 2 but it's worth watching the whole runRocinante wrote:I had watched a couple episodes of Justified but wasn't gaga about it. Then last night, I couldn't sleep and watched most of the first season. I think I'll watch more! Not tonight though. I was up until 4AM. That'll teach me to drink caffeinated drinks after 6.

Bohemian Rhapsody was really good. I wish Sacha Baron Cohen played Freddie Mercury like he wanted to. Rami Malek was fantastic, but it just felt a bit off.

Rami Malek is off. That’s why I like him and why I’ve been skeptical.

Does SBC have any acting experience outside of his comedic personas? Maybe the producers didn’t think he had the chops for the dramatic scenes.
Another possibility—maybe the producers thought SBC was too tall for the role.
Just spitballing.

He wanted to explore the darker side of Mercury.
He and the producers parted ways respectfully a few years ago.
But holy shit he looks almost exactly like Mercury. I think he would've pulled it off

The music episode was by far the best.

Is American Assassin worth watching? It was originally a Vince Flynn novel and tells the story of how the character Mitch Rapp got his start at the CIA.
BTW, the Rapp character is miscast. Liev Schreiber should be Rapp in any Flynn-based film that includes the character. Hollywood is stupid. Next thing you know, some nitwit will cast Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher, amirite?

I’m bailing on Ozark. Zero likeable characters and the style is so depressing and it gets old. Its always gloomy, gray and blue and everyone has shadows all over their face. Turn a fucking light on for once.AvgMSUJoe wrote:Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:Finished season 1 of ozark. Solid. Some dumb wtf parts but good enough

Speaking of zero likable characters...the wife and I are attempting to plow through Mad Men. Didn't catch my fancy first time around, but with all the hype when it finished figured I would watch it. THAT show has zero likable characters (so far... like beginning of season 4). The only remotely likable one is the maid.

The old boss has a painting of tentacle porn up in his office in one season. I can dig anyone who has that kind of taste. He was a pretty decent dude in that type of world.

Liev is too old to be Mitch Rapp. Remember he was a college student when the series started.tGreenWay wrote:Is American Assassin worth watching? It was originally a Vince Flynn novel and tells the story of how the character Mitch Rapp got his start at the CIA.

Also Jim Caviezel would have been a perfect Reacher

I didn't read those "awesome" books, but the first Jack Reacher was pretty good. The second one was really meh.

I agree that Schreiber would be too old for the earliest Rapp movies, but in later films, he could’ve done well.
As for Caviezel, I don’t know how tall he is. He doesn’t seem that bulked up, though. Not saying he wouldn’t do well with it, but on a personal level, the guy just gives me the creeps. It’s a silly hangup of mine, but he just doesn’t seem all there. It’s like he’s got this thousand-yard stare and is going to snap at any time.

Just started watching Ray Donovan. It’s pretty formulaic. But the actors are so good that I like it.

I watched American Assassin. I don't remember a thing about it, whether I liked it or not. If that tells you anything.
I also watched the first few episodes of Jim Ryan. I thought it was decent. I could watch more but not enough time.

Legion
My sister suggested it so I started it. Fkd up yo.
Wondering if it will become less "all over the place" with time. (Only like 5 into the first season)
